"That's basically what happened in 5 years. Not really the best backstory to have, but also not the worst we've heard of." Lilith said, getting up.

Fynn stretched, yawning a second later. He stretched his wings, flying over to the kitchen. "T-That's it? What happened to her dad?–"

"He's in prison. And yes, that's it." Lilith responded, getting apple blood juice.

Amity got up, going towards her mentor. "B-But she's always smiling– I-I've only seen her cry once, and that was my fault–"

Lilith spit out the apple blood, looking at the human. "You. What?"

"It was on accident! I-I called her a hybrid– But we're totally cool now!–"

"Oh yeah, she hates when people remind her that. She thinks of her dad when she hears that word..Back to your earlier statement?"

Amity sat down on the stool, Lilith doing the same. "She's always helping people..Tutoring students, hanging out with teachers, helping her mom at the diner! Only has one day off.." Amity mumbled.

"She's like that." Lilith chuckled. "Always looking out for others..And never herself...Remeber how that cyclops was on the porch?"

The human nodded, looking up at her mentor. "Got him to spill why he picked a fight with Luz, and why he lost twice."

"What did he say?" Amity asked.

"Said he wanted to steal her stuff, but she put up a heck of a fight. Even after he gave her that sticker, that can take away your powers until you take it off. He said Luz wouldn't hand over the stuff, over her dead body or something."

"Did he say what was in there? And why she said that..?" The human asked, her voice quieting.

Lilith thought about it. "Well I asked Hooty. He said that the stuff they wanted, and ingredients were in there..So I'm assuming she didn't want her family's stuff to be taken.."

Amity scratched Fynn's chin, the Griffin cooing sadly. "She risked her life for him too.." Amity mumbled.

"She did?"

The human nodded. "At the library, during the Wailing Star event. One of the characters from a book came to life, and she got caught..Not only did she save me, she said she wanted to help him first."

Fynn got up, nuzzling the human. Lilith gave a light laugh. "Want to know something funny..?"

The human nodded. "We have this job where someone is there to talk about your problems to."

"A therapist..?"

Lilith clicked her tounge. "Yeah that, Eda sent her there once. And when we went to pick her up, the therapist wasn't in their chair, Luz was. She was giving them their own session."

Amity giggled, moving Fynn's fur back. "Ever since you came by..She's changed..Her moods different, she used to be the person who helps others, not once caring about themselves."

Fynn looked at the witch, sticking his tounge out. Lilith moved his fur back. "And now she's finally taking care of herself..Amity..?"

"Yeah..?"

"You're the only one she trusts..Please take care of my niece..I can't see her get hurt again.." Lilith muttered.

The human looked at her mentor with a small smile. "I will, now let's get to bed. It's very late, and you need to drink the rest of your elixir too."

Lilith scoffed, standing up as well. "Night kid."

"Night Lilith.."

                     ~The next day~

"Hey Amity!!" Luz exclaimed, the human jumping in her arms.

She spun her around, hugging Amity back tightly. "Good morning Luz! How has your day been so far?" The human asked cheerfully.

"Better now that you're here, how about yours?" The witch asked, moving Amity's hair back.

The human giggled, nuzzling in to the crook of Luz's neck. "Pretty good, but that was pretty cheesy." Amity said, letting out a purr.

Luz laughed, rubbing the humans back. "That was pretty cheesy. So what do you want to do today?" The witch asked pushing Amity back a bit.

A light pink blush spread on the humans cheeks, she averted eye contact with the witch. "Something wrong? You okay?" Luz asked, putting her hand on the humans cheek.

Amity mumbled something, and only one word stood out to Luz. "..Date..?"

"I– W-What was that..?" The witch nervously asked.

The human looked up at Luz, the blush darkening. "Would you want to go on a date with m-me..?"
