Breakup

JAYNE'S POV

I woke up in Draco arms and for just a moment I felt happy. Then all the memories of the previous night came flooding back. I sat up and watched him sleep for a while. He looked so peaceful. The way his chest would rise and fall so softly. I knew there was a storm on the inside but right now you wouldn't be able to tell. Draco was rarely able to sleep very well or very long so I tried to be quiet. I started cleaning up the glass. Then I wiped the blood off the walls from where he punched them and I fixed the holes. "You could have waited until I woke up so I could help," Draco said in his morning voice as he sat up. "I know, but I want you to sleep and I have nothing else to do," I said. I grabbed the healer's kit and sat on the bed in between his legs. "Give me your hands," I said. "I'm fine," he said. "Stop being so stubborn and just let me heal you. Ok?" I asked. He nodded and held out his bloody swollen bruised knuckles. I cleaned them off and bandaged them and gave them a kiss. "You are so cheesy," he said, smirking at me. "Whatever," I said. After a while of somewhat awkward silence he spoke. "So you were with Blaise huh?" he mumbled. I felt my entire body fill with anger. "Are you fucking kidding me?" I spat. "Last night I-" he started but I cut him off. "No you know what, you shut up and I'm going to talk. First of all, last night, I was with Harry but it was about Sirius. Then Blaise came and got me because he heard you freaking out in here and got worried. You can't get upset anytime I talk to anyone that's not you, Draco. I love you so much and I accept your faults, but I can't do this if you don't trust me. So please just trust me." I said blinking back tears. He just stared at me. "Do you trust me?" I asked.

DRACO'S POV

"Do you trust me?" Jayne asked. I stared at her, trying not to cry. I wanted to. Every part of me wanted to give in. To love and trust her fully. But I just can't. My mother warned me last night about a conversation she overheard between my father and someone else. They are planning my future and she isn't sure when but I will eventually take the mark. Jayne may love me now  but once she finds out about that she won't. She will leave me. "Draco, do you trust me?" she asked, looking into my eyes. "I don't trust anyone." I said. I heard her breath catch. "Do you even love me? She asked. I hesitated and I couldn't say it. "I can't believe I was so stupid. This is over." she said and ran out. I lost her. I loved her and I couldn't say it and now she is gone.

JAYNE'S POV

I ran all the way down the halls as tears poured down my face. I knocked into someone and looked up to see Ginny. "Jayne? Bloody hell, are you ok?" she asked. "What do you care about?" I spat. "Listen, I am so sorry for what I said ok. I was just upset because earlier that day a bunch of Slytherins were being really mean to me and I took it out on you. I'm sorry, you are a really good person and I trust you." she said. "It's ok. I get it, trust me. Slytherins are mean to each other, I can't imagine how they are to people outside their house." I said and we both laughed. "Why are you crying?" she asked. "Oh um, just Draco, it's nothing" I choked out. "Come on," she said, pulling me and we started walking. "Where are we going?" I asked. "You'll see," she whispered. We walked down the halls and stood facing a wall. "Ginny, whatcha doing" I asked. Suddenly, the wall morphed into a door and we walked in. "Bloody hell" I said. It was a huge room. There were students practicing actual magic. "Welcome to Dumbledore's Army" she said and started walking towards Harry. The second he saw me we hugged. "Jayne, you are here! How, why?" he asked. "Ginny led me here" I said smiling. He nodded at her and she smiled and blushed, then she walked away. "Someones got a crush," I mumbled. "What?" Harry asked. "Oh nothing. What do we do?" I asked. "Well basically, I teach everyone magic since our DADA teacher won't." he said. "Brilliant" I exclaimed. It was incredible. Once everyone saw that Harry trusted me, they all did too. We all worked on magic and it was awesome. Then we had to go back. Right as I was heading for the door, Harry called me. "Jayne, you did great today," he said. "Why thank you Professor" I teased. "So Ginny told me something happened with Draco. You want to talk about it?" he asked. Honestly, I did. I was tired of keeping everything inside. "We broke up." I said. "Oh Jayne, I'm sorry," he said, hugging me. We sat leaning against a wall. "I couldn't do it anymore Harry. He can't trust me. He can't say he loves me. But I still love him. That's what scares me. No matter what he does, I will always love him." I said now crying. "It'll be ok. If you are truly meant for him, you'll find your way back to each other" he said. I laid my head on his shoulder and cried until I couldn't anymore. Of all the people I could have fallen in love with, it had to be Draco Malfoy. The stone cold, empty, broken boy who is scared to love.
