20 YEARS LATER

Time has passed. A lot of time. I have a life. The life I never thought I would. I am happy. After everything I went though, I'm happy. And I deserve it. I really do.

Draco and I got married. When we were 25, he proposed. He took me to a beautiful forest. He had charmed it to be lit up. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes.

We got married a year later. Ginny and Hermione were my bridesmaids. Teddy was the ring boy. Ron, George and Harry were Draco's groomsmen. Harry walked me down the aisle. The wedding was beautiful. Our colors were of course emerald green, gold and black. We danced all night. For the father daughter dance, Arthur Weasley danced with me. It was so kind of him. Draco and I honeymooned in Europe. It was amazing. We traveled everywhere. Then we went home. Draco became a Potions teacher at Hogwarts. I know he's proud to follow in Snapes footsteps. I'm proud of him too. I became a healer at St. Mungos. We both love our jobs.

We decided to live in Uncle Moony's house. I was surprised at first because I thought Draco would want a big house like he was used to. He told me he didn't care where we lived as long as I was there. Draco sold the manor to an orphanage. He said that place caused so much pain. He wanted it to do some good. It was torn down and rebuilt as a special home for boys run by wizards. Teddy comes to visit every Saturday. Draco and him have become quite close. Along with our 3 other kids. First, the oldest is Theodore Moony Malfoy. Then there's Isabella Narcissa Malfoy. And the youngest is Maddox Orion Malfoy. Theo is 13 and in his 3rd year at Hogwarts. Isabella is 11 and going into her first year. And lastly Maddox is only 7. Draco is an amazing father. He even came up with a rule that if we need to have an argument we go in our room and use muffliato. Which is also good because he still does that thing where somehow he makes sure all our fights end up in make up sex. It's amazing 20 years later and he still keeps things interesting. We also have a dog despite Draco's wishes. I got the kids a goldendoodle after Maddox turned 5. His name is Padfoot. Draco loves that dog despite what he may say. Our house is now a full house.

On Sundays, it's family day. And not just our family. All the families get together. The Potters, all The Weasleys, The Malfoys, The Longbottoms, Lovegoods, The Finnegans and Teddy and Andromeda. Harry married Ginny, Ron married Hermione, Neville married a Huflepuff named Hannah Abott, Luna married a Ravenclaw named Sarah Winters, Dean married Seamus and George married a Gryffindor named Camilla Evans. They all have kids. Every Sunday, we go to the Burrow and have lunch. The adults talk about life and the kids run around playing. It's really good that none of us lost touch. But I don't think we ever could. We went through too much together. We need each other. I just wish Theo was here with Dean to see it all. He would have been a really good dad. I know he's here though, same with Dad and Uncle Moony and everyone else. Because it's like he said....The ones we love never truly leave us and we can always find them in here. That's why I'm not as sad anymore when I think of the people we've lost. Because they are still with us. I'm just happy with my life. Sure, I still have the occasional nightmare. But I am stronger. Draco is my rock and I'm his. He is my great love story and I am his. If you told me when I first met him, that I would spend the rest of my life with him, I would have pitched myself off the Astronomy Tower. But that was before everything. There's nothing left to say but whatever our souls are made of... his and mine are the same.
And that is love.
