Meeting
DRACO'S POV
I don't know who is more nervous for today. Me or Jayne. The letter I received from my father has been on repeat in my head since I read it. I am to meet with him and Umbridge to discuss something regarding the inquisitorial squad. I'm trying my best to convince myself that it has nothing to do with Jayne, that they don't know but I have a pit in my stomach telling me they do.
Jayne and I walked to Potions and her cheeks were still red from our little session under the table. I love it when she blushes like that. We sat down in potions and began our work. Luckily that distracted her from the stress. But the second it ended and we had to walk to DADA her hands started to shake again. I interlaced her hand in mine and she looked up at me with those gorgeous eyes. "It's ok, I've got you" I said quietly. She nodded and we kept walking. When we arrived at the door there was a piece of parchment attached to the door that read:
Defense Against The Dark Arts STUDENTS- Class Today has been Cancelled
Draco Malfoy Please Report to My Office Immediately
My veins iced and my breath hitched. "Why does she want to see you?" Jayne asked. "I'm not sure, Probably just something for the inquisitorial squad," I said. "Do you think they know?" she whispered. "No, There's no way, I promise. Umbridge has no idea" I lied. She nodded. "Don't worry about my detention, I'll be fine. Just be careful." she said. I nodded and turned to walk away when she grabbed my wrist and spun me back around, pulling me into a kiss. "Promise me you'll be careful" she said softly. "I promise," I said and I left. As I walked to Umbridge's office, I grew scared. Not of her, but of my father. If he finds out about Jayne, I don't know what I'll do. I arrived at the door and knocked. It opened to reveal my father and Umbridge sitting in her disgustingly pink office. "Draco, come in and shut the door" she said with a fake smile. "Father" I said, nodding my head as I shut the door. "Have a seat" Lucius said and I sat down. "Professor Umbridge here has come to me with a concern regarding you and another student, Jayne Black" Lucius said with a smirk. No, No No. "Father I-" I started. "Before you try to lie, just know I have strong evidence that you have used your privileges of the inquisitorial squad to get Miss Black out of punishment." Umbridge said. "Is this true?" Lucius said. I stayed silent. My fear of him was taking over. My head filled with memories of the abuse and his words. I couldn't move. "Answer me!" he yelled. "Yes" I choked out. "Weak! You let a pathetic girl make you weak. It's a disgrace" he said taking his snake head cane and smashing it across my face. I felt the bone in my cheek crush and blood drip down from a cut. "I- I'm sorry" I stammered. "Lucky for you, Professor Umbridge here has already taken it upon herself to punish you." he said, gesturing for Umbridge to speak. "Ah Yes. You and I both know that Harry Potter and his friends are up to something. We haven't been able to catch them. Since you and Jayne are so 'close' you are to get the information to catch them from her." she said plainly. "How do you even know Jayne is a part of it?" I asked. "Don't play dumb boy" my father growled. "Jayne would never tell me. She is not going to betray her friends." I said. "Well you better figure out a way because if you don't she will just have to suffer through the cruciatus curse until she tells me" Umbridge spat. "NO!" I yelled standing up. My chair toppled backward and my fists clenched. "You can't do that," I said, glaring at her. I felt the sharp sting of my fathers cane on my shoulder. "Well then you better make sure she doesn't have to," he said. I could feel his smirk as he walked out. "You have until Monday. That's this whole weekend. Good Luck." she said with a smile. It took every ounce of my willpower to not kill them both.
As I stormed out, I headed straight for Snape's classroom. I knew what I had to do. I knew she would never forgive me but I didn't care. I would rather have her safe and hating me then loving me and in danger. I ran all the way to the potions classroom and when I arrived at the door I knocked to check if Snape was there. After knocking a few times with no answer, I decided to go in. I pulled my wand and pointed it at the door. "Alohomora" I whispered and the door opened. I snuck in and shut the door behind me. I didn't know how much time I would have so I quickly ran over Snape's personal supply room. I tried to open it but no luck. Not even with the spell. Then I remembered him mumbling "Lily" before he walked in here one time. Maybe it was a password. I tried it and it worked. I walked in and luckily everything was organized by alphabetical order. I found the veritaserum and took it then I got out of there. I ran all the way to dinner with Jayne. The second I saw her and sat down, she smiled at me. "Hey Draco, I missed you" she said softly and gave me a kiss. "I missed you too princess." I said. I took it all in. The sparkle in her eyes, her dark hair, her pearly white teeth, how soft her skin is, how plump her lips are. I knew that once I did this and she found out, I would lose her forever. I wanted to relish our good moments together, because they may be our last.
