JAYNE'S POV
We all walked outside. Theo, Dean and I stood next to each other. I looked around but I didn't see Draco. The death eaters were following Voldemort and Hagrid was carrying a body. He looked horrified. "Neville, who is that Hagrids carrying?" she asked. "Harry Potter... is dead" Voldemort yelled. Theo grabbed me before I could move. "No!" Ginny cried out. "Harry Potter is dead," he said. "From this day forth... you put your faith in me." he finished. Theo gripped my hand tightly. He repeated it and the death eaters laughed. A tear fell down my cheek. "And now... is the time to declare yourself. Come forward and join us.... Or die." he said. It was silent. Nobody moved. Nobody even took a breath. Then Lucius spoke. "Draco," he said sharply. I looked where he was looking and saw Draco. "Draco, come or you know what happens." he said. Then he looked at me. A chill went down my spine. Draco looked at me and I knew that look in his eyes. Guilt. He started to walk forward. He got to the middle and I broke free from Theo and ran forward. I grabbed his wrist and pulled him back. I kissed him and Bellatrix gagged. "Don't do this." I whispered. He looked at me. "You aren't them. Don't do this." I said. "Draco, get over here or-" he started. "Or what?" I yelled. "What are you going to do that you haven't done already? Huh? You don't scare me. You can threaten us all you want but he will never choose you over me. Because he loves me and I love him. So do your worst." I said. I pulled Draco back over to our side and held his hand. "Pathetic." Voldemort said. "Declare yourselves." he said again. Then Neville started limping over. My heart sank. I saw a tear fall from Hermione's cheek. "I must say I'd hoped for better," Voldemort said and they laughed. "What's your name?" he asked. "Neville Longbottom" he said. They all laughed again. "Well I'm sure we can find a place for you in our ranks-" he started. "I'd like to say something," he said. Voldemort clenched his fists. "I'm sure we'd all be fascinated to hear what it is you have to say." he said. "It doesn't matter that Harry's dead." he said. "Stand down Neville." Seamus said. "People die everyday. Friends, family, We lost Harry tonight, but he's still with us. But so's Fred, Remus, Tonks. They didn't die in vain." he said. I smiled a little. He was being so brave. "But you will, because you're wrong. Harry's heart did beat for us. For all of us! And it's not over!" he yelled. Then Neville did the unthinkable. He pulled the Gryffindor sword out of the hat. And just then Harry jumped out of Hagrid's arms. "Harry!" I yelled. He was alive. He started to run. "Potter! Potter!" Draco yelled as he threw his wand to Harry. Harry caught it and cast a spell at the snake. We all ran inside. Some death eaters ran but some came after us. Draco and I got separated. "Draco!" I screamed. Theo was pulling me into the castle. "We'll find him later," he said. "Draco!" I cried. We ran to try and take cover. Theo and I ran down the halls as deaths eaters filled the castle once more. "We have to get to the great hall, that's where everyone else is," he said. I nodded. We ran. We got to the bottom of the stairs and I heard a voice. "Sectumsempra" it yelled. Theo was hit with a flash of light and flew across the room. I turned around to see Lucius. "What did you do?" I yelled. He threw a curse at me. "Stupefy" I yelled back. "Avada-" he started. "Avada Kedavra" I yelled. The green light flashed from my wand. Lucius flew back and hit the floor. I ran over and grabbed his wand snapping it in half for good measure. "Jayne-" a weak voice said. Theo.
I ran over and Theo was bleeding just like Draco. "The spell, I don't know it. Theo" I choked out. Blood poured from his chest and began to pool around him. He was coughing. "It's ok." he said and took my hand. I shook my head. "No, not don't do this. Don't you shut your eyes." I said. "Jayne, it's ok. Let me go." he said. Tears fell down my cheeks and he wiped them away. He had a small smile on his face. "Theo, what about Dean?" I said. "Tell him I love him and I always will." he said. I held his hands. "It's ok. I'm gonna be ok." he said. "I'm not scared. It doesn't hurt." he whispered. "I love you Theo." I said and I kissed his forehead. "I love you too." he whispered. His breathing slowed and I held him. "Can you sing to me?" he asked. I smiled and choked back a sob. I nodded. "Of course" I said softly.
And I was running far away would I run off the world someday,
Nobody knows, nobody knows
And I was dancing in the rain I felt alive and I can't complain
But now take me home, take me home where I belong
He smiled and breathed his final breath. His head fell to the side and he closed his eyes. "Theo" I choked out. I didn't let go of his hand. "I'm so sorry." I said. Then I heard footsteps behind me. I grabbed my wand and pointed it at them. "It's just me." Draco said. Then he froze. "Theo," he said. He knelt next to him. "He's gone. I couldn't save him" I whispered. "He was good. Too good for this world. He deserved better than this Draco." I said. He nodded. "It's over." he said. I looked at him. "Voldemort. He's gone. Harry beat him." he said. I just nodded. "I'll go get a stretcher." he said. He walked out and returned a few minutes later with Neville and Cormac. They lifted Theo onto the stretcher and carried him into the Great Hall. "Put him next to my Uncle," I said. They laid him down and I covered him with a blanket. I scanned the room and saw Dean and Seamus in the corner drinking water. He deserves to say goodbye. I got up and walked over and Dean looked up at me happily. He hugged me. "We won Jayne! Isn't it brilliant! Have you seen Theo? I told him I would-" he started. "Dean," I said, stopping him. He looked at me and I took his hand and walked him over to Theo. Dean stopped. "No. Not Theo. He was alive. I saw him" he said. He knelt down and held his hand. I hugged Dean. "I'm sorry." I said. He cried. "He wanted me to tell you something." I said. Dean nodded. "He wanted you to know he loved you and he always will." I said. Dean just nodded. "Did it hurt?" he choked out. "He said it didn't." I said. Dean hugged me. I cried with him. "He was a really good guy. I loved him too." he whispered. "I wish you guys had more time." I said. "Me too." he said. "I'll give you a minute with him," I said. I stood up to give him a chance to say goodbye in private. Draco held me and stroked my hair. "My father's dead." he said. I looked up. "It was you, wasn't it?" he asked. I nodded. "Did he do that to Theo?" he asked. I nodded. He just hugged me again. "Are you upset?" I asked. "No, I understand." he said. I nodded. We sat back down. Then Harry walked in. I ran over and hugged him. "Hey Jayne," he said. "How could you do that?" I said hugging him. "You left me without even telling me. I thought you were gone." I said. "I'm sorry," he said. I nodded. "It's over. We won." he said. "Theo's dead." I said. "I'm so sorry," he said. "I know we won. But it really doesn't feel like it." I said. He nodded. "Do you understand about Snape now?" I asked. He nodded. "I wish there was a way that I could tell everyone we lost that we won." I said. Harry looked at me with a small smile. "They know." he said. I nodded. I hope so.
