JAYNE'S POV

I've talked. I've talked to Theo and Harry. I mean I've tried at least. I talk about it a little and then the memories flood my head and I can't get them out. Then it's like I can't talk. I have to take a sleeping draught every night and even then I still have nightmares. Harry, Ron and Hermione are still trying to find the rest of the horcruxes. They are coming up with plan after plan. I hope it works. They have to find them and destroy them. They just have to. We can't lose. Otherwise it would be all for nothing. All the death and destruction would be for nothing. Dad, Dumbledore.... Draco. They might all be gone for nothing. I can't think about it. What will happen if we lose? I just wish I had Draco. He would know what to say. Or he would just hold me in his arms and I would feel better. But I can't. So instead, I lay on my bed and looked out the window. I pray that even if he's still at the Manor, I pray he's alive. My thoughts were interrupted by the door opening. I sat up and turned around. Harry walked in and sat down next to me. "We think we found a horcrux." he said. I looked up at him quickly. "Where? How?" I asked. "We think there's one in Bellatrix's vault at Gringotts." he said. "How do you know?" I asked. "It's a long story," he said. I nodded. "We are leaving in an hour." he said. "Who made the plan?" I asked. "Mostly Hermione." he said. "That's good. She thinks things through better than you and Ron." I said and he laughed. "Theo, Luna, Bill and Fleur will still be here so don't worry." he said. I nodded. "Well, I'm going to go get ready. Unless you need anything." he asked. I shook my head and he left.

An hour passed and I went downstairs to say goodbye. I walked into the kitchen and there stood Bellatrix lestrange. I screamed and ran out the door. I heard them call my name but I kept running. I got to the middle of the beach when I felt two arms wrap around me and pull me back. "Jayne, calm down. It's me. It's Theo" he whispered. I sunk into his arms. "She's here. She found us, we have to go." I said pulling his arm. Harry ran over. "Jayne, it's Hermione. It's just a polyjuice potion. I'm sorry I didn't warn you. It's how we are getting into Gringotts." he said. "It's not her. It's just Hermione." Theo said hugging me. I nodded. I walked back inside and faced her. Hermione looked exactly like her. "I'm sorry I scared you Jayne." Hermione said. I nodded. Ron and Hermione walked out. Harry stood in front of me and I hugged him tightly. "I'll be ok." he said. I nodded and held him tightly. I didn't want to let go. I feared he would leave and never come back. Everyone was looking for him. "I'll come back, Jayne, I promise." he said. A tear fell down my cheek. "Harry, don't make promises you can't keep." I said. He smiled and wiped my tears. "I'm not." he said. I nodded and he left. They apparated away and I went into my room. I knew he was just trying to be brave but he was scared. There's no guarantee he was coming back. There's no guarantees at all right now. We are at war. War means uncertainty. That's it.

"Jayne, he's Harry Potter. I'm convinced it's impossible for him to die." Theo said walking into my room. I was reading The Great Gatsby. I told Hermione it was my favorite at the beginning of summer. Hermione bought a copy when her and Harry went to Godric's Hollow. She told Harry she would give it to me when they found me. It was her way of convincing Harry they would. She gave it to me and I cried. "Are you reading that book again?" he asked. I nodded. "You know Hermione has a bunch of other ones, and so does Fleur. Why don't you borrow one of theirs?" he asked. I shook my head. "Don't you get bored of reading the same thing?" he said sitting down next to me. "This is Draco's favorite book." I said. "Oh, Jayne. I'm sorry-" he started. " It's alright.... He used to read it out loud to me. At the Astronomy Tower, in bed. Basically everywhere. I can feel him in the book. When I read it, it's like I can hear his voice." I said. Theo smiled. "You'll see him again Jayne. I just know it. You guys have survived too much and your love is too strong for you to not end up together." he said. "That's not how life works Theo." I said. "Maybe, but isn't it better to dream about all the things you'll do with him if you get a future then dwell on what may be happening?" he asked. I nodded. "I just wish I could have saved him. He always saved me. But this one time, I should've saved him, '' I said. "Jayne, you did save him." Theo said. I looked up at him confused. "I heard the stories. From kids at school, from Harry. He was a completely different person. Then he met you. You saved him Jayne. You saved him from himself." Theo said. My eyes watered. "I love you Theo, you are my best friend. I love you so much." I said hugging him. He stroked my hair and kissed my forehead. "I love you too Jayne. We're gonna make it. We will win this war. And you will be with Draco." he said. "And you, you will find another Noah. It might be Dean, it might not. But you will find someone. I'll make sure of it." I said. He smiled. "Thanks Jayne." he said. I nodded and went back to my book.
