JAYNE'S POV
I walked back into Snape's classroom and shut the door. My heart was racing and my hands were shaking. I stood in front of him and he looked at me with concern. "Sir, if I tell you this, it can't leave this room. Ok?" I asked. He nodded. "Ok" I said exhaling out a shaky breath. I started pacing back and forth in front of his desk. "He has nightmares. Bad ones. I knew. I found out a long time ago. He didn't have them for a while. He said it was because I always slept with him. But not anymore. We don't, we aren't together. He was screaming. He woke up the entire house of Slytherin. He was screaming and crying and when I got to his room he was a wreck. He was begging someone to stop, to stop hurting him. I finally calmed him down and he was ok. Or as ok as he could be. But I stayed with him. When I woke up..." I paused and stopped looking Snape in the eyes. I couldn't read his expression. Fear, confusion, concern, I don't know. "When I woke up, his sleeve got rolled up. I saw it. The dark mark." I said. Snape's face dropped. "Who... Miss Black." he asked, but he already knew. He just needed to hear it. "Draco Malfoy." I said. "Miss Black, this is very serious. Are you sure?" he asked. "Yes, I know what the dark mark looks like." I said. "How, how are you sure?" he asked. "If you must know, I saw it on Bellatrix Lestranges arm when she was torturing me." I said looking at the floor. "Hm." he said. "Hm?!" I exclaimed. "That's all you are going to say? Hm. Draco would never willingly become a death eater, you and I both know that." I said. "You are probably right Miss Black but unfortunately in Lucius Malfoy's absence it seems Draco was forced to step up." he said. "Ok. So Professor to be honest you are really hard to read and I'm getting incredibly impatient so I'm sorry but-" I stared and whipped out my wand pointing it at him. "Legilimens" I yelled. Luckily, I caught him off guard and was able to see some stuff. I saw him looking at his dark mark. I saw him, Bellatrix, and Narcissa in a room. They were making an unbreakable vow. and I saw him and a little girl in the library together laughing. I saw him and the same little girl being sorted. She was a Gryffindor and he got Slytherin. I saw them being teased by a group of boys. I saw a bunch of memories like that. When you are trying to hide stuff when someones in your head, it helps to think of other memories. He was doing that. Then I saw Harry's parents. Strange. But I was mad. I broke the spell and he glared at me. "Don't ever do that again." he seethed. "Well then help me!" I yelled. "Miss Black-" he started. "No! No, don't just give me more bullshit. Draco is now involved with Voldemort. I want answers. If you won't give them to me, I guess I'll just go to Malfoy Manor and ask Narcissa Malfoy myself, maybe-" I started. "No!" he yelled. That was strange. He never shows such an outburst of emotion. "Jayne, you are never to go to Malfoy Manor. Ever." He said sharply. Now he's using my first name. "Why? Tell me why. Tell what you know. I'm going to do whatever it takes to help Draco. If you tell me what you know, it would be greatly appreciated." I snapped. "Ok. Fine." he said. "Finally." I said. "Yes. Draco is a death eater. No, he didn't want to. I wasn't there for all of it, but Voldemort's training and methods are very extreme. I would assume that's what the nightmare was about." he started. My heart lurched. He was trained by Voldemort. What methods? If that nightmare was any indication, they must have been bad. "He has been given a task.-" he started. "What is it?" I asked. "I can't tell you that," he said. I rolled my eyes. "Seriously? Does it have anything to do with that Unbreakable Vow you and Narcissa Malfoy made?" I asked. He was silent. "It must have been important if you are willing to die over it. That is what happens right? If you break an Unbreakable Vow." I asked. He nodded. "So you care about him Professor. I know you do. Please tell me what he has to do. Then I can help." I pleaded. He paused. "Come with me." he said sharply. I just followed him. We left the classroom and walked all the way to Dumbledore's office. We walked in and he shut the door and casted a spell. "Severus, what's going on?" he asked. "She knows." he said, making a face. Dumbledore sighed. "How much?" he asked. "She knows the Malfoy boy has the mark, she knows he has a task. She wants to help." he said. He said the word help sarcastically. I rolled my eyes at him. "Is that true Miss Black?" he asked. "Yes Sir. Draco may seem like this bad guy, but I know he didn't want to take the mark. I know it. Voldemort must have done something to force him. Please you have to believe-" I started. "Jayne... I believe you." Dumbldore said. I nodded. "This will be a very heavy burden to carry. You cannot share this with anyone. It will be all on you. Are you ready for that?" he asked. "Yes Sir." I said. Him and Snape looked at each other and exchanged glances. "Severus, your thoughts?" he asked. He looked at me. "Given the two's history, I believe she could be of use. " he said plainly. "Alright." he said. I nodded. "Jayne, Mr. Malfoy has been tasked to kill me." he said in a calm voice. My jaw dropped. "What?!" I exclaimed. "It's alright. He isn't going to do it." Dumbledore said. I sighed in relief. "Oh thank merlin. Harry would be crushed if you-" I started. "No Jayne, you misunderstand. Draco isn't going to kill me." he said. "I am." Snape said. I turned around to face him. His face was blank. "You are joking right?" I asked. He shook his head. "Let me get this straight. Draco is supposed to kill you. But he isn't going to, you are Professor Snape." I asked. They nodded. I thought about it. "The Unbreakable Vow" I said looking at Snape. He nodded. "Well now you and Voldemort can be besties" I snapped. They were silent. Then I understood. "Oh I get it. That's the whole plan isn't it. You know someone is going to kill you so you are making Snape do it so Voldemort will think he's on his side." I said. They looked surprised. "You are very smart Miss Black." Dumbledore said. "Thanks." I mumbled. "This is bloody insane." I said. They nodded. "What do I do? I don't think Draco should know I know about his mark. Not yet at least." I said. Dumbldore smiled at me. "I agree. Establish a relationship. Build trust. Just keep an eye on him. Let us know if you learn of any updates. Mostly, just be there for him. Try to keep him from completely going dark." he said. "He would never do that." I said sharply. "Dark magic has an affect on the soul Jayne-" Snape started. "Yeah well, he's stronger than that." I snapped. They didn't say anything. "Oh you should know Harry is already suspicious of Draco." I said. Dumbledore's head snapped up. "You might want to give him something to do to keep him occupied or Harry will find a way to find out and if he does all hell will break loose." I said. They nodded at me. Snape and Dumbledore now looked concerned. "Can I go? I'm going to see Draco." I said. "Yes, and Jayne... Be careful." he said. I nodded and slipped out the door.
