Bonus: stress and babies

"DO YOU THINK IM HAVING A GREAT TIME RAYMOND!" I scream into my phone.

"Damn Madison. Did you wake up and choose violence?"

"No, but your son chose his birthday, so you better shut up because I'm the one with your wife in labour in my car!"

"I said, I'll get there soon."

"Can you both shut up!" Diamond yells at us.

It's currently 7 in the evening. Mony called me not too long ago saying that she was in labour.

And I am freaking out.

"Maddie, tell me we are at the hospital!"

"Yeah, we are here. Can you walk in?"

She nods, and we go.

"Gina, she's in labour. I need help now!" I tell the lady at the emergency desk.

They get Mony settled, "she'll be in room 58. Do I need to page Jayden?"

"No, do not tell him we are here. I'm pretty sure he's conducting surgery. I don't want him to be distracted."

Gina gives me a firm nod before I get outside to park my car.

When I get back in the hospital, they ask me to put on an isolation gown.

"Hey, how you doing?" I ask Diamond calmly.

"I just know he'll have a big ass head. I have to push out a child, Madison!" Well, she is delusional. Yet, she also doesn't want pain medication.

And soon enough, the pushing, screaming and crying begin.

"I'm here!" Raymond runs into the room.

"It's about time." I roll my eyes. It's been like two hours.

"Diamond, you a going to break my hand." I wince.

"Would you like to be pushing eight pounds out your vagina!" She screams at me.

"You know no one told you to do the deed."

"Shut up!"

I can't feel my hand.

Raymond coos nonsense to his wife until more tears run down her face.

"I can't do this anymore." She sighs.

"Diamond, come on just a couple more pushes-"

"My body feels like it's splitting in half, Raymond shut up!"

The doctors instruct Diamond carefully as the umbilical cord is around the baby's neck. But about twenty minutes, later Dezmond Rhodes Michaels is born.

Mony almost immediately falls asleep after holding her son.

"Madison, are you okay?" Ray asks.

I clamp my lips together and nod.

He sighs, "She broke your finger, didn't she?"

I bob my head from side to side. There's a big chance that's the case.

I make my way out, and I run into my fiancé. Literally.

He grabs my hand to prevent my fall, and I quietly cry out in pain.

Jayden distances himself from me.

"Mads?"

I don't look at him. I also don't look at my hand. I think if I do, it'll hurt more.
