A/N: This is a special bonus chapter that I wasn't going to originally keep in the book. This is a POV chapter so y'all get to see things from Madison's, Jayden's, and Beth's POV. This may help you understand Madison's character a little more, especially how and why she behaves around a certain group of people...WARNING: This Chapter may be triggering to some readers. Please read to your discretion.
"Madison, talk to me"
Madison's POV:
It was a normal day. I was fine, just a bit jumpy. Is that a crime? No, it's not a crime for a girl to be jumpy for a day, so people need to stop questioning me.
Jayden's POV:
It was September 2009. Madison and I are on great terms. She's my best friend, why wouldn't we be?
Today was different. Madison cancelled our plans to hangout. She never does that. I saw her two days ago. She did not show signs of sickness. Maybe she was sick all of a sudden. She would not cancel if it were not for a good reason.
I needed to think about this. When I think I like to go for a walk. I set out a bunch of possibilities for why we weren't hanging out today.
Sickness was number one on my list. Although she may have not been in the mood. She would tell me. Maybe, she got hurt or has a lot of homework. Or maybe... "Oh, my bad."
I walked into someone, and they dropped a book. It was from Madison. I walked into Madison. I went down to pick up her book. It seems like she was coming home from school.
As I got up to give her back her book. We locked eyes. She turned around and started walking away from me.
Fast.
"Madison, your book," I yelled. She just kept walking. I ran in front of her to block her path.
"Madison, talk to me," I said. She flinched when I tried to give back her book. That was strange, but I did not pay much attention to it. She ran the other way. I could have easily caught up with her, but I could not bring myself to chase after her. Something was not right.
I walked back home, trying to make an excuse for what had just occurred. Then I had realized I still had the book she dropped. I looked at its exterior very carefully. It was Madison's journal.
I approached my desk and just stared at it, pondering what I should do with it. I wanted to open it. Although, I could not interfere with her privacy.
I needed to know what was going on, and this can be an informative start.
I read it.
I read it all.
The first page to the last entry.
Madison needs to talk with me. She won't. She's scared. She's scared to talk to me, or any guy for that matter. And I didn't know why.
I had two questions. Who is K.B, and what did he do to Mads?
I have to talk to Beth.
"Mum?" I said as I entered her study.
She immediately stopped what she was working on to talk.
"What did you just say?" She questioned me. I called her mum. I rarely call her mum. It's always been Beth because of our equal respect we call each other by our first names. She knew something was going on.
I said nothing and gave her the journal. She had a questionable look on her face. "Why do you have Madison's, journal hun." She asked.
All I said was, "read it." I sat on a bean bag as she flipped through the pages.
