"How could you not tell me?"

"How could you not tell me?"

It was a regular day. I went to school. I came home. I was close to completing my homework. When I got a text message from Jayden.

Guess what? He got suspended.

Surprising right?

That's not the only thing. James got suspended too.

They were fighting again.

Have I mentioned that Jayden has a temper? Yea, it can get bad sometimes. I suspected that James got him upset over something. Jayden is not the type of person to get in a fight, and James is the type of person to get on Jayden's bad side.

These two are like brothers. Their moms are best friends and they've known each other since birth. Even though James is older, Jayden takes on the older role between the two of them.

The question was, what made my two best friends fight in the first place. I called Jayden wanting to get the truth outta him.

Fun fact. Jayden stutters when he lies. I did ask Jayden, about five times as to why they fought, before he gave me an answer.

"He got me angry, and I tackled him off the lunch bench." Was all he said.

That was obvious. Of course, James got him upset. But that wasn't the answer I was looking for.

He was clearly avoiding answering the question. So, I simply said, "Jayden you know if you don't tell me you are going to make me assume things, then you'll make me very upset."

He agreed to tell me everything, I wanted to know.

I just needed to know the whole story.

He said before he started that I should know that James has a crush on me.

I didn't believe him for a second.

Jayden then told me that, when we were in the third grade and did the heartbreak challenge, James was going to ask me to go on that walk. He never asked Emily. Jay wouldnt lie about that. It also made sense as to why James was so upset when I was holding hands with Monte.

Moving on...

This is what happened... in short;

It was lunchtime. James was drawing.

James is a very talented artist.

Jayden was discussing plans for all three of us to hangout. James wasn't listening he was lost in his own world. Jayden took James' sketchbook away.

That was Jay's first mistake, I could already tell.

James asked for his book back. Jayden asked him if he had heard a single word he said. James was being sarcastic and made a comment saying that Jayden was talking about how much he loves me. Jayden Denied it and said that James was thinking about how much he loves me, James openly admitted that he did.

That was a real shocker, love is a strong word...I never knew James had feelings for me. James was always quiet but sensitive in a way, he brought out his emotions through his art. Plus Jayden wouldn't drag a lie on for this long. He was telling the truth. I should've listened to him all the other times he tried to convince me.

The thing I wanted to know was what ticked Jay off to initiate a fight?

James' sketchbook was the building point.

I've seen the sketchbook, it was the one he made for me. James has a bunch of silly drawings I like in it. Although, I had not seen it in a while... as in about a year.
