Typical
Jayden's POV
I think it's time we get the old group back together. It's been so long since we were all together.
James and Madison would be there, of course. Kira wasn't an issue. I never really liked Monte, but he is part of the group. Emily may still hate my guts. I'll take that chance.
Everyone except Emily agreed to join our mini-reunion. I had to get her there. Emily did live the farthest from the pirate park. I promised her a ride home. I offered her anything I could think of. Her answer was still no. I told her everyone was going to be there.
She said if Monte was there, she wasn't going. I laughed. I knew that I was not the only one who thought Monte was a bit off. I was soon wrong. Girls are so confusing. They like someone but stay away from them for... who knows what reason?
After negotiation and twenty bucks, Emily cracked.
REUNION DAY
It was cloudy, but everyone promised. Rain or shine, they would show up. I was first to show up with James. Shortly Madison and Kira showed. After Monte appeared. It took a while, I even thought she was going to bail, but Emily did show up.
We were all scattered around the park doing whatever to our heart's content. Then Madison ran up the pirate ship and yelled into the air, "everyone get up here it's time to talk."
I laughed to myself. Typical. Madison's favourite thing to do was talk with people. It didn't really matter who.
When we all got up, we sat in our natural places.
I sat back in a corner, leaning against a pole.
Monte climbed up one pole and draped himself over it, like a sloth.
Kira sat on the steps.
James sat backwards on the slide entrance.
Madison, she was always the carefree type. She was sitting on the ledge of the ship. If she were to fall back, she would be falling ten feet into woodchips.
Finally, Emily was situated across from me, and farthest away from Monte.
"Okay, it has been a while, we need to catch up because none of us go to the same school anymore. I want to hear from all of you, excluding Jayden." Madison took charge of this conversation.
"Hold on, why not me?" I cut in before anyone spoke up.
"Jayden, I practically talk to you every day. Moving on, Monte, speak now before you fall asleep." Typical.
Monte stared into the distance when he spoke. "I started playing baseball. I play for the hawks."
I loudly groaned when he said baseball, earning a cold glare from Madison and Emily.
In unison, they both scolded me, "Jayden shut up!"
Laughter filled the air soon after.
"How about you Kira?" I switched the subject.
"Well, Winter is coming up. I am trying to stay in the best shape I can be in. It is going to be hard to train. I don't nearly get as much time on the track as I'd like to. Plus, being pulled out of school to train is fun, but it gets boring." She explained.
Kira was a track superstar. She runs all races, and her specialty is high jump. The thing was, she jumps the old school way. It is an amazing sight to see.
"Emily?" Monte questioned her.
"Huh... What?" She got flustered fast.
"What about you? What have you been up to?" He clarified himself.
