It is August 28, 2019.

I don't know what to think anymore.

Was everything a lie?

Was this really all a game?

Marq wouldn't lie to me.

I can't do this anymore. Jayden has been my life for practically 11 years.

Jayden has always been possessive over me. But he makes it look like an obsession.

We weren't together. Though he has acted like my boyfriend for the majority of our relationship.

I need to settle things now before I go off the rails.

I text Jayden to come over.

He is leaving tomorrow so today is the last day I have to do this. It has to be done face to face.

Later in the afternoon, I hear the doorbell. He is here.

Jayden has a huge smile on his face, he steps forward to hug me, though I step back.

I can barely look at him.

"Madison what's wrong?" He asks.

"We need to talk," I whisper. My voice is already on the verge of breaking and I haven't even gotten to the big part in this conversation.

He walks into my home and we sit in my living room. He took a seat first, I made sure I am far from him.

"Did someone hurt you Mads."

Yeah... you did.

"Jayden do you know what this is?" I say pulling the USB out of my pocket.

"A USB?"

"You gave this to me when Marq died," I mumble.

He is confused, "yes?"

"I don't believe you read the single file on this, or else I think you wouldn't have given it to me."

A smile came on his face, "you finally read it? Well, what did it say?"

"You knew James liked me first and you disregarded his feelings. Both of you did." I state.

"Madison, James is okay with this, and I didn't know Marq had feelings for you."

I continue, "though you accused him many times of it. I knew Marq's feelings because he would tell me how he felt. Once upon a time, I had feelings for him too. It's clear that he pushed them away. For you."

Jayden scoffed, "that's ridiculous why would he do that? And yes I have accused him but it was jokingly."

I'm so frustrated, " he did it because he always put you first! Marq never liked football. He played it for you! You dreamed for you both to become the two worlds youngest surgeons. Marq never liked science, he wanted to write! You never listen to anyone Jay. You taunted your best friends, jokingly doesn't cut it. So jokingly meant taunting your best friends, it meant acting like everything was okay in front of me? You and James stopped talking to each other!"

"Marq loved science and football. What does James have to do with anything?"

"You never knew Marq like I did Jayden," I whisper.

"He was like my bother Madison."

"Well, he felt like he couldn't talk to you. He never wanted to disappoint you."
