KorraSide
"I've been coming here for almost five years Rave." I am in my car on the phone with Rave. She doesn't understand why I still volunteer at KorraSide hospital.
"I know Madison but it takes up so much of your time. Don't you want to settle down? Start a family?" She asked me for like the thousandth time this year.
I groaned loudly.
"Rave if you can find me a male of the species who I can deal with for the rest of my life, I will settle down." She had been trying to get me on dates for our whole friendship. She's Diamond when Diamond isn't here.
After that horrible call. I went inside KorraSide and picked up my volunteer tag heading towards the pediatric ward.
Then I saw my favourite nurse. Cassandra.
"Hey, Cass!" I ran towards her.
I smash into a tall figure, crashing into the ground.
"Woah, are you okay?" I hear a man say to me as I got off the floor.
"Hey! What did I tell the both of you about running in the hospital?" Cass snapped at us.
I turn my attention to the man who I had crashed into.
"Yes, I am alright, sorry about-" the words came to a halt. They jumble in my head.
I looked up to find the most gorgeous guy I swear I had ever seen. He was pretty tall, he had black hair with brown highlights and the most intriguing grey eyes I've ever laid my eyes on.
Snapping out of my thoughts, "what did you say?" I ask that man.
He chuckles. "Are you okay? You took quite the fall there."
"Yeah, I'm alright. I'm Madison by the way." I extend a hand out to him.
"I-umm Wilson." He slowly grabbed my hand.
"Nice to meet you, Wilson, anyways Cassie I was coming over to you before I crashed into Wilson." I turn my attention back to her.
She had a brief look of confusion on her face before speaking, "Madison hold on." She dragged Wilson over behind a counter and they were discussing whatever was on her clipboard.
Soon Doctor Odell Baker came around and Wilson left with him.
Cass came back to me, "Madison what was that back then?"
"What was what?" I question her.
"Oh, I don't know how about you acting like you were drowsy as if you were hit by a bus."
I look at our surroundings before speaking again, "Wilson is the most attractive man I have ever seen."
She wiggles her eyebrows at me, "when's the last time you were actually attracted to someone?"
I scoff, but before I could say a thing she beat me to it.
"Besides gawking over Isaiah Peck before going to bed."
"Since I was 19," I mutter.
"I would motivate you to go after him but he's turned down almost every girl in the hospital."
"Cass he's probably married or something." I shrugged. No man looking like that would be single.
"Surprise! He's single. He came here recently, he is training with Baker. He's also the same age as you. I actually think you have a shot, I mean did you see the way he was flustered meeting you?" Was she trying to embarrass me in public?
I hid my smile and shook my head. Walking away towards some of the kids' rooms.
I am with a boy named Vincent. He is going to get his tonsils out. He is a blunt child with no filter. Although he is hilarious.
When I saw kids in Korra I would either read, play or talk with them. They help me know that I shouldn't take life so seriously.
I was watching Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince with Vincent. I have to educate the young with a classic series.
Vincent stopped the movie multiple times to ask me questions. He would squeal or pretend to barf whenever Ron and lavender had a moment together.
Although he did also stop to ask me why Hermione was so upset. That kid wanted to know everything in depth and could easily tell if I was lying. He has a gift.
In the middle of my trying to explain Wilson tapped on the door.
"Come in!" I say.
"Madison come here for a second?" He calls.
I got up and walk to him.
"How old are you?" He asked me.
I lift an eyebrow at him, "don't you know that you shouldn't ask a woman how old she is?"
"Yes, although you don't seem like regular women." He took a step towards me.
A small voice erupted from the hospital bed, "if you guys are going to kiss I'm actually going to throw up!"
I immediately took in my proximity to Wilson. I step away from him and turned to Vincent.
"I thought you were watching the movie?"
"You still haven't told me why Hermione was so upset about Ron and lavender." He pouted.
He is adorable.
"Are you guys watching Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince?" Wilson walks past me and sits bedside by Vincent.
"Hey! You can't sit there that's Madison's chair." Vincent shouts.
Wilson looks intimidated by the seven-year-old.
"Vin stop scaring Wilson," I told him.
"Whose Wilson?" He replied.
"Hey, buddy don't you remember me I came in here the other day to show you how'd you be asleep through your surgery?" Wilson spoke up.
Nodding his head Vincent replies, "you said you'd buy me ice cream if I did a good job."
"Yes, I did," I say.
"Hermione is upset with Ron because she has a crush on him and he is with lavender," Wilson tells the boy as he points at the television.
Vincent looks between Wilson and me for a while before speaking again. "Are you and Madison together?" He asks.
"No," we say in unison.
Perfect timing. The nurse came in with Vincent's lunch.
Wilson got up to leave and I finally answer him, " January of 2000."
He smiles at me and I moved on to the next kid. Vincent continued to harass us over the next two days. He is a lot to handle sometimes.
I have a love hate relationship with children..........
