In the region of Mondstadt, there lived a free and playful bard, singing songs while playing his lyre, brightening up the lives of the people within the walls of the city. But still, his songs and his advice will always come at a price. Luckily for people, it's just apples. Who knows how much money he could've gotten doing this.
Venti the bard, roams around Mondstadt and plays his songs at the plaza, and near the statue. People would come just to see and hear him play and sing. For his singing immediately calms you down and lets you just drift along the wind.
On the other hand, there was a certain traveler that certainly was known to all of Mondstadt. Known for defeating Stormterror, helping people, and protecting Mondstadt of any danger. That is, the Honorary Knight.
A person that had suddenly appeared with unique clothes, and absolutely no knowledge of the world whatsoever. But of course, due to his travels, he has known more and more about it all. Including regions, archons, and any other possible important information.
Aether, who was always running around and doing commissions, doing errands, requests, bounties and anything the citizens could possibly ask for. Venti, who was freely roaming around and brightening up everyone's lives. You could say that everything they do was connected and that it's perfect for them to be together.
Well, it seems like a certain bard thinks the same way. Everyday, sneaking glances, looking from afar, and admiring him endlessly. He even thinks about making a special song about the Traveler.
The only unfortunate thing was that they had no time to be together or hangout. Since Aether was part of the Knights of Favonius, naturally, he had a lot of things to do. Venti does know and understand this but he just wanted at least a little bit of time to be together.
In the days and times where Aether was no where to be seen, he simply sits on the hands of the huge statue and thinks about futures and ideal worlds he would want. A future with Aether, an ideal world where they're together. In fact, these thoughts were the things that were keeping him happy.
It wasn't that he liked him for just his looks. Rather, he liked, or loved him for his devotion to protect and help people. As well as his kindness, nice attitude, and the adorable smile on his face that he flashes so rarely. And for a fact, it has been a long time, probably decades or centuries, that he's last felt like this for someone. His heart was beating really loudly in excitement and nervousness.
Meanwhile, we have Aether. Who was too busy to do anything and to feel anything at all. In fact, I'm sure that we wouldn't be surprised if he's never really noticed anything new about anyone at all. He was just constantly running, hunting, as well as finding his sister.
His eyes were just always everywhere, looking for something, being on guard, and meeting different people every day. He was busy, yes, and he didn't have much rest. But he didn't mind anything he felt at all. No matter how tired he was, he decided to just keep going and keep pushing forward.
All to find at least a slight clue that his sister was still alive and well. And since Venti can see this, and he's probably the only one who can see it too, he was getting really worried for his mental health and well-being.
He has tried to make Aether just sit back and relax, listen to Venti singing his songs. Basically a concert just for Aether but, soon enough, people were coming to him and constantly asking him for something. This kind of pisses Venti off whenever it happens. He just wishes to be alone with him.
He wanted to fly and use the winds to make Aether go with him on a journey or to somewhere where they can both be together. That's all he wanted and yet he knew deep down that Aether would protest to these actions. So despite everything he's feeling, he decided to control himself and watch him from afar.
If he did get the opportunity and chance to get Aether to take a break and be with him, he would absolutely take the chance.
The Traveler, being the busy person he is, has never thought of himself and what he wants to do next. What he wants to do, is always what the people ask from him. Not really what he wanted. Maybe deep down, he wanted to take a break as well. He just keeps it to himself since he has no room to waste time. Even though he had all the time in the world.
These were just constantly repeating days. Aether doing commissions, going hunting, finding clues about his sister, and again and again and again. While Venti watches Aether, singing songs, and also watching over Mondstadt. These just repeated over and over.
And noticing it, Venti was getting pissed about it. He wanted something to change. He wanted to progress. Not just sitting around doing the same things repeatedly. It was time that things change.
Well, in truth, he has thought about doing this before. Changing things around and getting something different done... but it's been a few weeks since then. He has no idea where to start and no idea what to do at all. Things just keep on moving around and happening the same way.
Soon enough, he even plans to confess but stops himself every time since, there's barely any development or any thing happening that would consider them as "close friends". So, if they haven't even been registered as "close friends", how was it supposed to develop into "lovers"?
So he first plans to just get closer, maybe talk about each other, basically that whole "getting to know each other process." But the only problem was... how the hell was he supposed to get Aether to come with him?
He flinches in surprise as he sees Aether come into Mondstadt's gates. He quickly runs and hides at the corner and stares at him from afar, observing what he does. But even the slight look of him was making Venti go insane.
Now this is the start of the story of The Bard and The Traveler.
