A Promise and A Proposal at Christmas

Aether's POV

An... invitation from Venti? So, suddenly? And it seems like he's going to be taking me somewhere. Well, surely him of all people know where's a good place in Mondstadt. He basically saved me in finding the perfect place. I just already know he's going to take me somewhere amazing. I grip the little box that was in my pocket, nervous as I soon calm down.

"Sure!" I say, in a tone that was happy and excited. I didn't want to be all tense and obviously nervous since, it would break the atmosphere. Venti's eyes open wide, looking shocked as he flashed me a bright smile. He then grabs my hand and starts running out of Mondstadt. For a brief moment, I saw Mona and Paimon smiling as they waved their hands. 

I feel myself smile, already knowing that this was going to be a very... memorable night. He suddenly stops, making my body almost lose balance but I luckily steadied my footing. He then looks at me and smiles, I smile back. He then looks up at the sky as pristine white wings suddenly appear from his back. 

It was... beautiful. I should be surprised but, then again, what did I expect? Everything about him was just beautiful. His entire existence is beautiful. I simply smile gently as I then gripped his hand tighter. Rough winds were gathering under our feet, making both of us levitate up in the air. I then see his wings stretch upwards before strongly flapping it, making us fly into the air. 

"Do you like it?" He asks, stopping us midair, fully seeing the entirety of Mondstadt as we were up on the clouds. Despite having a lot of clouds around us, Mondstadt was seen as the lights around the walls, in the houses, and at the streets were illuminating the entire city. 

"It's pretty. Just like you." I smirk at him. Come to think of it, I didn't continue saying it before, right? It was before we confessed... such a long time ago but it feels like yesterday. To think that he still loves me after all this time... it keeps blowing my mind remembering it. Rather than falling out of love, I'm falling deeper in it whenever he does something like this.

"Hush! Not now." He says, blushing. The strong winds kept making me close my eyes as it kept hitting my face. I hear him chuckle, looking at me. I sigh, realizing that he was doing it on purpose as it stopped when I looked at him.

"It's about to be Christmas day so, let's wait for Amber to ignite the fireworks." I say, staring at Mondstadt below us. I hope Amber does indeed ignite them at the right time as that's my only indicator of the time. I didn't bring my watch or anything. Just... the ring.

"Do you want us to stay here for a while?" Venti asks. I assume he's talking about staying up in the air. It was... relaxing, sure but, does he have enough energy to keep both of us afloat?
