"Come here, Sunflower."Daddy sat me on his lap, and from the looks on his and Mommy's faces, I could tell something was up.
"So, you know that big house we have in California? The one we go to in the summertime and Christmas or when we visit Disneyland."
My eyes were wide with excitement when I looked back up at Daddy.
At ten years old, Disneyland was my favorite place in the whole world.
"We're going to Disneyland?!"
Daddy chuckled and kissed my forehead while Mommy shook her head.
"No Sunny-- well, maybe. Daddy's getting traded to a team out there."
"Okay..."
"So, we're moving next week."
I couldn't seem to match my parents' excitement.
I was being ripped away from everyone and everything I knew.
My thoughts were instantly on the two boys who each had a piece of my heart.
After hopping off Daddy's lap, I ran to my room, ignoring my parents, who were trying to call me back into the living room.
I got on my computer and sighed in relief once I saw that Nate was online.
He answered the video chat within a few seconds and once he saw the tears on my face, the smile on his face fell.
"Flower... What's-what's wrong?"
"Nate, it's the worst thing in the world. They're ruining everything!"
"Whoa! Calm down, okay? Take a deep breath and tell me what's going on."
After listening to Nate, I closed my eyes and nodded, inhaling until I couldn't fill my lugs up anymore.
"Daddy's getting traded. We have to move next week."
"Yeah, I heard. That's awesome, Flower."
Nate's bright smile both hurt and confused me. I didn't understand how he could be so okay with us not getting to hang out every day.
"How is that awesome, Nate? This means we won't get to hang out all the time."
"It's not like that at all, Flower. My dad got traded too... we're- we're still gonna be together."
