Sunny didn't wanna be around Tristan after everything he'd pulled this week, so I didn't blame her when she told him to take us to her place.

What surprised me as I hopped out of the car once we got there was her telling me she didn't want to be around me either.

"But Flower--"

"No, Nate... I need a breather."

Tristan had his head tilted back and rolled his eyes, shaking his head in frustration before he looked over at her.

"Bunni, c'mo--"

"No, okay?! I need to get away from the both of you."

Tristan took a sharp breath in through his nose before turning his head away.

"Whatever..."

Sunny let out a sarcastic but annoyed chuckle as she slammed his passenger door shut, nodding her.

"Yeah, Tris... whatever."

I wish I could've stayed quiet on the short trip back to our house, but I was so frustrated, and being trapped with the root of my frustrations wasn't helping.

"Why do you always have to mess with Flower?"

"What?"

"She's my best friend and it's like you're always trying to mess with her, or single her out."

He let out an amused snicker while keeping his eyes on the road.

"Okay, I have no idea what you're talking about, Nathaniel."

"Fuck you!"

Tristan's bitter smile grew even wider once as we pulled up to our house.

"Oooooh, don't let Mommy hear you talking like that."

"Seriously, Tristan... what's your deal? You act like I asked for all of this! Mom said--"

He had just parked and whipped his head over, leering at me when he cut me off.

"She's not your mom."

"I know that, okay?! You constantly remind me when you treat me like half a fucking person!"
