It's been two days since the disaster after dinner with Nate and I was still reeling.

I had no idea that Nate was gonna ask me out; I didn't even know he liked me.

But I guess if you put it all on paper, me and Nate did make a lot of sense.

Nate's always been the sweet one and he's always been there for me.

Aside from that one blow-up when I moved, there's never been a time that Nate's made me cry.

But, Tristan...

I know... still hung up over the boy who stood me up...?

I'm pathetic

Nate's been avoiding me all weekend, and even though he keeps saying he's focusing on football, I know it's a lame excuse.

He's a much better quarterback than Adam and there's no doubt Nate's gonna lead the team to multiple championships.

I was sitting out by the pool, writing in my notebook when my Dad walked through the back gate.

I pulled off my sunglasses, surprised to see him.

"Hey, Dad. I thought you'd still be at the arena."

"And I thought you'd be at your boyfriend's."

"Dad..."

"What? C'mon, Sunflower, you know your mom and I like Nate."

My stomach twisted up knowing that even though my dad was talking about Nate, all I could think about when I heard the b-word was Tristan.

Didn't matter though; I wasn't talking to Tristan and Nate wasn't talking to me.

"Anyways, your mom and I got something for you."

As we walked over to the south wing of the house, my dad turned to me with an excited smile on his face.

"So, you know how we've had some construction work going on over here for the past few weeks?"

"Uhh, yeah Dad... you've had guys coming in and out of the house every weekend for the past few months. What's up?"

My mom met us at the base of the stairs, and as I followed my parents, my brain raced with curiosity until they finally opened the door under the big red light.

Once inside, my jaw dropped.

"Mom... Dad..."

"You like it, Babygirl?"

I turned back to see hopeful looks on my parents' faces and smiled as I wrapped an arm around each of them

"Are you kidding?! I love it, you guys!"
