Jack and Angelica finished the fight, thinking the horrifying shriek must have come from a crewman.
They had finally won and Jack was about to get a well deserved kiss when Angelica darted to a part of the ship where some bodies lie.
Jack was confused, but ran to her when he heard her gasp and saw her drop to her knees.
He too dropped on his knees as he saw Angelica tending to cuts along Jackie's arm, and on his leg.
Seraphina was there with him, looking worried.
"Son, what happened?" Jack knelt down to him.
"There were two, they ganged up." He said as he winced.
Angelica started to rant in her Spanish to herself while Jack tried to calm her.
"He'll be alright. Right?" He asked his son.
"Not that bad." Jackie smiled through his pain for his mother.
Angelica stopped ranting and rubbed his cheek. "You are brave, my son." She kissed his cheek and Jackie blushed.
"So how's it feel to have your first battle wound?" Jack grinned.
"Hopefully there won't be a next one." Jackie grumbled.
"You're a pirate, you'll get used to it." Jack smacked him on the back and he winced.
"At least he didn't get yer heart or ye organs." Jack tried to brighten the mood.
"It feels like it." Jackie complained as Angelica dabbed some rum on his cuts. Seraphina rubbed his arm affectionately as the poor boy lie there in pain.
"The brute got an artery. He's bleeding badly, but not badly enough that I can't stop it. We may need Gibbs to check up on him for a while." Angelica explained and looked up to Jack with sadness in her eyes.
"What is it?" Jack asked, partly annoyed, partly upset at seeing her down.
"We need to talk." She said and called for Gibbs to help Jackie to his cabin.
Angelica grabbed Jack's arm and walked quickly back to his cabin.
"What is wrong, dearest?" Jack tried to charm her, just in case she was mad.
"Jack, we've got to stay on land for a while." Angelica said quickly and all at once.
Jack lifted a finger to talk but she cut him off and started pacing.
"I don't know how long. No shorter than 3 months. Maybe even longer. Oh hell, Jack, maybe even forever!" Angelica grabbed Jack's hands and looked at them as she intertwined her fingers with his.
"I can't have Jackie getting hurt. I didn't even want him to be a pirate in the first place. We've got to settle down." She looked into his eyes.
"Angelica, you know I'm no land lubber. We'll take the safe waters for some time, alright?" He got up as if she'd agree but she didn't move.
"Not alright," her tone changed. "I am going to keep my son safe from the life I've chosen. It's not fit for a boy. We're going on land. You're invited." She let go of his hand and stormed off.
"Angelica!" He called.
"What?" She turned sharply on her heel.
"I'll stay." He grabbed her hands.
Angelica was speechless and her mouth hung open.
"I love you and I want you to be happy. If that means staying on land then I'll learn. You may have to hold me down, but I'll try. I'm willing to for you." He looked down and was caught off guard when Angelica pulled him into a kiss.
"I was hoping you'd say that. I don't know what I'd do without you." She smiled and held her hands at the back of his neck.
"I could say the same for you." Jack grinned and his metal teeth sparkled.
