Jack watched Angelica sleep more peacefully now in the bed of his cabin. Her eyes lazily opened and set on him.
"Jack!" She said in a voice that could be compared to the sound two twigs rubbing together make.
"Shhhh. It's ok, love, I'm here." He stroked her hair.
Angelica's sickly gaze slowly fell upon her new white bandage. She reached for it, but Jack stopped her.
"Don't pick at it, it will only hurt." He informed.
She rubbed her arm and frowned.
"I know you're pale, you'll get your color back with your blood." He informed.
Looking at her sympathetically, Jack leaned down and kissed her forehead. She was completely distracted from her arm when the doctor walked in.
Without saying a word, he pulled out the dreaded needle.
Angelica's eyes went white and she scooted away from him.
He rolled his eyes and moved towards her again, and she moved away.
"Let me see that." Jack took the needle from him and went to Angelica.
"Close your eyes." He said as he undid the bandages. His hands began to shake as he saw a large gash from the inside of her elbow to her wrist showing bone.
"I can't..." His voice shook at the same quick pace of his hands as he handed the doctor the needle.
"I'm sorry." He whispered to Angelica as he buried his face in her stomach. He felt her breathing hitch as the shot was plunged into her wound. He heard the doctor leave and wrapped his arms around her.
"I'm so sorry." He lifted his head and Angelica saw a few tears on his face.
She wiped them away and smiled at him through her pain.
Jack managed to rebandage her arm after a few tries and crawled in bed next to her on her unhurt side.
"I cannot forgive myself." He said as he laid his head on her chest.
He listened to her heart beat, almost faintly.
"I forgive you." She squeaked and ran her hand on her good arm through his hair.
"Thank you, Angel." He smiled sadly.
