Angelica woke with a start and peered at her slightly distended stomach. A sudden sense of fear swept over her. Although it was the middle of the night, she scurried out of the cabin for air. She hung over the rail and watched the black water splash against the wood.
"Misses, Sparrow?" Scrum approached her carefully.
"Scrum! I didn't know you were spared in the battle at the fountain." She said happily but brutally.
"Er, yes." The man blushed at her strait forward speak. "what are you doing out here so late?"
"I needed air," She sighed.
"Has something happened between you and Captain?" The man asked.
"You could say that," Angelica unconsciously rubbed her stomach.
"Are you hungry?" He asked.
"No, why?"
"You rubbed your stomach. That normally means you want food, unless-" Scrum stopped. "again?!" He gasped.
"Scrum, you cannot tell anyone," Angelica whispered and shooshed his excitement.
"Not even Pintel or Raghetti?" Scrum begged.
"Definitely not them!" Angelica argued.
"Angelica?" Jack bellowed from his cabin.
"Lips sealed," Angelica reminded and ran to the cabin.
"Here, Jack."
"I thought you'd jumped ship." Jack embraced her.
"I'm scared, but not that scared," She commented.
"Why would you be scared? This is the second time, need I remind you?"
"Anything could happen, Jack. I almost didn't make it last time, remember? And the waters aren't the safest place for a pregnant woman or an infant," She worried.
"Love, you're pacing. It's alright." Jack brought her in his cabin, sat her in his desk chair, and rubber her shoulders. "We'll be alright."
"Will we, Jack?" She grabbed his hand on her shoulder and looked up at him, searching for answer.
Jack swallowed his own fear and smiled. "I'm sure of it, Angel." He rubbed her hand.
"Captai-" Gibbs burst through the door, but stopped when he saw Jack comforting Angelica, who was gazing at her hand placed on her stomach.
"I'm sorry."
"Gibbs, could we have a minute?" Jack almost growled.
"I wish I could say yes, Jack. You'll want to see this," Gibbs said with a grave tone.
"Angelica stay here," Jack warned.
Angelica stood and grabbed his arm. "If you're hurt-"
"Stay." Jack silenced her and walked out the door.
Davy Jones stood on deck with two of his crewmen. He sauntered over to Jack with one leg in a bucket of water. "Ah, Sparrow. You finally face me. As I recall, every time we schedule to meet, you seem to run away." Davy smiled maliciously.
"Jonesy, it's been a while. And as I recall, all of our scheduled meetings have been for you to kill me." Jack refuted.
"And you're still alive," Davy spat on Jack's boot.
"What do you want?" Jack snarled.
"What I've been promised the last four times we've been supposed to see each other. Your soul."
"Not going to happen, Davy," Jack crossed his arms.
"Believe me, Sparrow. I will make it happen." He stomped on Jack's foot, making Jack cringe. "Unless..."
"Unless what?" Jack croaked.
"Unless you give me every thing you found at the fountain. The cups, the capsule for the tear, the map, any doubloons. Anything you found there or on the way to." He proposed.
"And if I don't?" Jack quirked a brow.
Davy took his claw and put Jack's throat in between the pincers. He lifted Jack by his neck and held him in the air.
"Then your soul it is. And we won't be nice to you," Davy mocked and threw Jack on the ground. Jack touched his neck and his hand came back blood soaked. He felt a delicate hand touch his shoulder and Angelica knelt down beside him in a panic.
"I told you to stay in there," Jack scowled in a hoarse voice.
"I told you that I can't watch you be hurt. I can't stand and watch you be torn from me," A tear slipped from Angelica's eye and Jack hugged her head to his chest.
"What is this?" Davy tugged Angelica to her feet by her arm and put his hand on her stomach. "Another?"
Angelica looked at Davy with terror and another tear rolled down her shaking face.
"Higher stakes I see. You'd hate to have a fatherless child, wouldn't you?" He snarled at Angelica and pushed her back to Jack, who caught her just in time.
"Leave her alone, Davy. Do whatever you want with me if I don't have the treasure, but leave her alone." Jack looked at Angelica with a worried expression.
"I suppose you're right, Sparrow. Taking her as well would allow her to see you. If I just took you, you would never see each other again." Davy plotted. "It's a deal then. You've got four days to find the treasure before I send the Kraken. Then I'll give you a week to deal with her before I come for your soul, Jackie." Davy threatened before him and his crewmen jumped over the side of Jack's ship. He held Angelica tightly as he watched the undead ship rise from the depths and sail as fast as the wind.
"What are you going to do? You don't even know where most of that treasure is?" Angelica fretted.
"Shush, Angel. I'll find it, don't worry. I promise, we'll be alright." He stroked her hair as they both sat on the deck, too frightened to move.
After a while, Jack stood and helped Angelica up as well. He wiped her face and smiled the best he could through his fear.
Angelica tried to smile, but her eyes welled up again. Jack took her hand and led her to his cabin. Angelica sat on the edge of the bed and dropped her head in her hands.
"Angel.." Jack began, but there were no comforting words he could give her. She'd heard what Davy said.
"Don't cry," He sat beside her and pulled her into his side.
"How can I not, Jack? I'm about to lose my child," She rubbed her stomach.
"We don't know that," He said. We'll fight. We will do our best to protect you.
"And then I will have a child and no husband," She hugged Jack.
"I got away from Davy once, remember," He smirked.
Angelica put her head on his shoulder.
"I remember, mi amor. I remember everything you tell me." She sighed. "Because I never know if you'll come back to tell me more stories."

So, sorry for the late update! Finals coming up are killing me. Responsibility sucks. I swear I've been writing, just not updating -Hehe don't kill me 😖- Anyway, I've been busy "studying" (going to the mall with friends and taking Instagram selfies in amazing things we can't buy) so I didn't update. Don't expect any updated this week, I'm afraid, I'm jammed with exams and actual studying now. I tend to ramble when I'm not telling a story, I've noticed. Oooook gonna stop pouring my week plans out to you and go back to getting distracted with Connor Franta while trying to do math. Updates to come this weekend I promise! (Don't hold me to that) Comment how you like it so far? 😬
