Angelica woke up in the soft linens of the bed she had seen the previous day.
She looked down and gasped as she saw she was no longer in her normal attire, but a red silk nightdress.
"Good morning." Adonis greeted from beside her.
Angelica panicked and frantically tried to get out of bed, but Adonis put up his hands in surrender. "I didn't do anything, I swear."
"You're not very gentlemanly." Angelica glared at him as she gathered the sheets around her body, although she was clothed.
"You're not very thankful." Adonis returned.
"What do I have to be thankful for from you? You locked my husband in a cell and knocked me out!" She yelled.
"I apologize for hurting you, I should have controlled my anger better. As for your husband, it is my duty to follow the orders of my bosses." Adonis informed.
"Your bosses?" Angelica inquired.
"The people of the heavens." He nodded.
"You? Heaven? I'd think you were more of a demon." Angelica crossed her arms.
"I'm just the shadier part of the heavens." He smirked.
"So.. what are you?" Angelica relaxed around him, knowing that he was no demon after all.
"I am a soldier of the skys." He inclined his head.
"What do you do?" She laid her head back on the pillow.
"I protect people in need and follow the orders of my superiors." He informed.
"You're an angel." She inquired.
"Precisely." He smiled.
"So why are you so... harsh?" She looked at him with soft eyes, sympathetic eyes.
"I don't know. I don't exactly like your husband." He shrugged.
Angelica waited patiently for an explanation.
"He's not pure of heart." He stated.
Angelica sighed. "He's not. Nonetheless I'm in love with him."
"It's a powerful thing, love is." Adonis nodded.
"I like you better when you're not following the orders of your 'superiors'." Angelica admitted.
"I like you better than your husband." Adonis laughed, and so did Angelica.
"Is it possible that you could.. tell your superiors he got away?" Angelica pleaded.
"I'm sorry, but no." Adonis put a hand on her shoulder.
"Why do they need him anyway?" Angelica said sadly.
"They want him to be a sky soldier aswell." Adonis told her.
"Why did you have to lock him away then?" She asked curiously.
"If he knew the circumstances, then he wouldn't willingly go, so we took precaution."
"May I know the circumstances?" She begged.
Adonis sighed, and said hesitantly in a very soft voice, "Once he becomes a soldier, you cannot ever see each other again."
