Jack sat up straight in bed after having a nightmare of the Kraken. Angelica stirred, but didn't wake even with the sudden move.
Jack looked at her sleeping face and smiled. He leant back down, gently crossing his arm over her warm body.
Angelica stirred again at the motion and rolled over into Jack's chest. Jack was about to put his chin on her head, when she put her head up and slightly smiled at Jack. He leaned down and put his forehead to hers, and she looked into his dark brown orbs. He looked back into her chocolate ones and watched her sad eyes. Angelica leaned closer to him and planted a kiss on his cheek. She pulled away, but Jack cupped her face and pulled her to his lips. He gently pressed his lips against hers, but smashed them much harder when the ship rocked violently to one side.
Angelica was taken aback and looked at Jack with annoyance.
"Sorry, love. Didn't mean to." Jack put his hands up to avoid an argument.
Suddenly, the ship jolted the other way and Jack fell onto the floor, with Angelica hanging over the edge of the bed.
"What the devil?" Jack stumbled to the door.
"Jack!" Gibbs yelled and ran towards him. "Was it the Kraken?"
"Beastie's day is two from now," Jack said confusedly.
"Then what was that?" The man exclaimed.
"Go find out!" Jack pointed to the side of the ship as the less than happy captain ran below deck.
He searched warily for any cargo that was loose or any sort. Jack heard some scuttling behind a crate and grabbed for a torch as he carefully approached it. He flashed the torch behind the box and found a man shaking in fear.
"Who are you, and what are ye doing on my ship?" Jack asked harshly.
"Leonardo," The man answered, still shaking. "I found this ship when I was adrift on a piece of wood. I accidentally loosened a cannon and it rolled. Please do not kill me," The man said very quickly.
"I won't be killing you, so stop shaking." Jack put the torch back. "We'll give you a place to stay until the next port, but you're leaving then." Jack said as he walked back on deck.
The man followed Jack and walked timidly behind him.
"Jack!" Angelica ran towards him and threw her arms around his neck. "I thought it was the Kraken. I thought it killed you... Again."
"The Kraken isn't here and I'm fine. You shouldn't be out here, you'll freeze." Jack gave her his coat and she looked at him in a puzzled way. It was a moderate temperature on the deck.
Jack signaled with his head to the man behind him and Angelica quickly covered herself in her nightgown with the coat.
"Who is this?" Angelica asked.
"Leonard the castaway," Jack moved aside and put his hand on Angelica's back.
Angelica shook his hand. "You're a castaway? How?"
"I was a fisherman, but one of the larger men pushed me off the boat. They never liked me," He sighed.
Angelica chuckled. "I've been there."
"What kind of ship is this?" He asked and looked around.
Angelica looked to Jack for a lie, and he shrugged.
"Pirate ship," She answered.
"Wonderful.." The man sighed. "I will give you my money, my service, anything, but please don't hurt me!" The man cowered.
Angelica laughed at him and he rose back up.
"You aren't going to kill me?"
"Of course not!" Angelica smiled.
Jack stepped up to be beside Angelica and take part in the conversation. "We don't kill unless we have to."
"You're not ordinary pirates I see." He commented. "Especially with a woman on board."
"I wouldn't dare leave my wife on land!" Jack put his arm around Angelica. "I have a hard enough time keeping men off her now."
Angelica giggled and leaned her head on his shoulder, instinctively placing on of her hands on her stomach.
Leonard smiled at the sweet couple and his eyes fell to Angelica's hand. His eyes then widened.
"And a child?" He gasped.
"Things happen," Jack shrugged and Angelica blushed. "It's not the first."
"Wow," Leonardo looked impressed at the pirate parents.
Angelica's face fell again at the thought of her child who might never get to be born and she rubbed her hand over the small bump.
"You can have the extra cabin by the kitchen," Jack offered. "It's not nice, but it's better than the crew's hammocks."
"Yes, thank you, Sir."
"Captain..." Jack muttered.
"Captain," Leonardo echoed and saluted.
"When's the next port?" Angelica asked curiously.
"Three days from here in any direction." Jack answered.
"So he'll go down with the rest of us?" She dropped her eyes to the floor.
"Don't think like that, darlin'." Jack rubbed her shoulders. "I've fought this thing before."
Angelica quirked a brow. "You died."
"I've died twice and I'm still with you, see?" Jack poked his gut. "Nothing can keep me away from you."
"I love you, Jack." Angelica looked seriously into his eyes.
"I love you too, Angel." Jack replied and kissed her forehead.
Angelica smiled, then made a face and ran to the railing, hurling her stomach contents into the sea. Jack ran and pulled back her hair, patting her back.
After her episode, Angelica and Jack looked out over the waves peacefully, it maybe the last chance they would get to enjoy it.
