Jack woke up to find Angelica setting several dresses on the bed.
"What are those?" He groggily asked in disgust.
"Dresses." She answered as she decided between two of her favorites.
"For what?" He rolled out of bed.
"Today." She answered again, holding the fabric to her skin.
"What could we possibly be doing that requires such rich fabrics?" He rubbed sleep out of his eyes and pulled his boots on.
"Jack, we've got to fit in or they're going to hang us." She explained as she rounded the bed to him.
"So you've got to wear a dress all the time?" He quirked a brow.
Angelica nodded.
"Alright," He put his hands up in surrender and walked to the door but Angelica stopped him.
"And you've got to look a little nicer yourself." She grinned and glided to the closet.
She pulled out a navy outfit and set it on the bed.
"You want me to wear... That?" Jack looked as if he were sick.
"Yes." Angelica inclined her head.
"Already practicing your lady like habbits. This reminds me of when I first met you." Jack out one arm around her shoulders.
Angelica smiled and leaned her head on his shoulder.
"I'm only wearing the coat." He broke the silence and the embrace as he threw on the jacket.
"You look better already." Angelica cupped his face and kissed him as she threw on a cream colored dress.
"You look like a French woman." Jack stifled a laugh. "With bronze skin."
"That's the idea." She rolled her eyes and walked out of the room down the hall.
"It doesn't look bad!" Jack called after her.
Angelica made her way to breakfast with Jack on her heels.
She walked into the room with the excessively long dining table to find Jackie and Seraphina already there. Jackie had adapted and wore a suit, while Seraphina wore her same style, which was in fact a French dress.
"Good morning." Angelica greeted.
The younger couple said their hellos and Jackie couldn't help laugh at Jack, looking uncomfortable in the large house, and in the jacket.
"You look like a fish out of water." He remarked.
"That'd be correct. I'll never be used to this place." He looked around as he sat.
"If we're all sitting here, whose making breakfast?" Jackie asked and as soon as it left his lips, a group of servants came out with trays of food.
"The staff." Angelica answered.
"We have a staff?" Jack raised a brow.
"Yes, my friend was quite rich." Angelica said as she lay her napkin in her lap.
"I see that." Jack said as he dug into his food.
Angelica looked distastefully down on his little manners as the rest ate with more dignity than him- which may not be saying much.
"What?" He asked with food on his face.
"You've got to abandon your pirate ways, Jack. You live here now." Angelica wiped food from his face as she looked at him sympathetically.
"I know," He sighed, "I just don't want to admit it."
----------------------------------------------
Jack shuffled exhaustedly into the room where Angelica lie on the bed in a black silk night gown reading a book.
He stumbled over to the bed, took off his boots, jacket, and shirt, and climbed in.
He placed his head gently on her waist and read a few words of her book.
Not treasure, not rum, not women, not a interesting.
"I miss you, Ya know." Jack said absentmindedly.
"Jack, we all live here." Angelica chuckled and set down her book to play with his hair.
"This isn't you, this is a Spanish woman trying her best to be French. I miss the old you. The one who'd fight me and tease me. Oh hell, Angelica, I even miss your arguing." He said truthfully.
"Jack we've got to live like this. It's for the better of our son." She massaged his head and felt him yawn.
"I miss you, I miss the sea." Jack slurred and then snored.
"I love you, mi capitan." Angelica kissed his forehead and fell asleep with her love's head over her heart.
