Jack was pacing in the hallway outside the room nervously. She's having my child. And it's my fault if she doesn't make it. Jack thought in his head.

"Jackie!" A voice called from down the hall, Scarlet waltzed up to him and put her hands around his neck, giving him a perfect view down her dress, however, he didn't look. "What's wrong Jackie." Scarlet nibbled his earlobe.

Jack pushed her off "Scarlet, get off me!"

She stared at him, shocked. "Why? Are you hurt?" Scarlet came closer again.

"I..... I have a family." It was hard to get out but Jack smiled at knowing it was true.

"What?!?" Scarlet narrowed her eyes. "What whore is better than me?!" She tried to slap Jack but he caught her hand.

"No whore love, my beautiful wife." He smirked at her triumphantly. Scarlet gasped and walked away. Yes, my beautiful wife. He thought.

A long, painful scream tore him from his thoughts and broke his heart at the same time. Several more long moans followed. Jack wanted to run through the door, run to her and hold her in her moment of pain. But he couldn't. Could I? Jack thought.

One more pained scream echoed through the hallway and that made Jack's choice clear. He bolted through the door and over to the bed where Angelica was sweaty and crying.

"Sorry, Gibbs. Couldn't stand out there and here her scream." Jack said, unconsciously holding Angelica tighter when he mentioned the screams.

"S' Alright, Jack. It may be better if you're here." Gibbs nodded and went back to work.

Angelica squeezed Jacks hand hard enough to break bones every time she pushed. Jack didn't mind. "Jack..... I love........ you." Angelica managed between pushes.

Jack got lower to her. "Don't speak, Angel, I know. It's ok." He stroked her matted hair. Angelica tried to take a brake, she laid her head back and almost looked peaceful, until Gibbs started yelling for her to push.

Angelica screamed the painful scream Jack had heard in the hallway, it was even worse up close.

"Almost there, Angelica. Keep pushing!" Gibbs informed her.

"I don't think I can, Gibbs." Angelica laid back, sweaty, exhausted, crying.

Jack didn't know what to do. He knew Angelica needed to push, but she was obviously in pain and exhausted. "Love, you need to try." Jack said in a soft, soothing voice.

Angelica turned her face toward him, hot tears running down. She stared into his eyes for the longest time before whimpering, "I'll try." She turned toward Gibbs at the foot of the bed and started cringing again in attempt to push.

"It's working!" Gibbs shouted, "It's breaching!"

Angelica cried again, a mix of pain and joy.

"One more, Angelica." Gibbs said, trying to hide his excitement.

Angelica gave her final push, and with it came the loudest, longest, most pained cry ever heard.

Jack clung to her as she screamed, he buried his face in her hair. After she finished, Jack looked at her face, red and wet. Her eyes were closed and she was breathing heavy. "Angelica?" Jack asked and poked her chin.

"Yea?" Angelica said groggily.

"Good job." Jack chuckled.

Gibbs raised a squirming, crying little baby over the foot of the bed. He set it on Angelica's chest and she smiled at it with pure joy.

"It's your baby boy." Gibbs smiled too.

"Jack." was the first word she could manage.

"Yes, love?" Jack asked, still gawking at the tiny human.

"Not you, the baby. His name is Jack." Angelica picked him up and kissed his forehead. The baby smiled a toothless grin.

Jack just stared and Angelica noticed. She gently handed the baby to him, and Jack reluctantly took it. "Hey, Jackie." He chuckled lightly. The baby reached up and grabbed Jacks beard. Jack was shocked but smiled so brightly.

Angelica giggled from her position on the bed, "You've already formed a bond." A little tear of joy rolled down her exhausted face. Jack handed the baby back to her, but Gibbs came over and took it.

"Where'd you put him?" Jack asked when he returned.

"I put him in a makeshift crib so he can rest. It wasn't just hard on her you know." Gibbs joked. "Jack, now I think you should leave. She needs rest, too." Gibbs ushered him towards the door.

"Angel, I love you!" Jack said before being pushed out the door.

Gibbs joined him in the hallway. "I must inform you, Jack, that this is the point where the weak mothers........ don't make it." Gibbs said in a hush voice.

Jack's draw dropped. "What about, Jackie? What about my boy?" Jack shook Gibbs.

"You have a healthy baby. He will live. Angelica on the other hand, she struggled. It's a guessing game with her." Gibbs lowered his head and left Jack.

Jacks face felt heavy, he sat on a small bench outside the door. Jack doesn't cry, but he had the tears in his eyes. He felt like gravity was crushing him. He lowered his hat over his eyes, propped his elbows on his knees, and put his head in his hands.
