Chapter 108

The crowd walked down the hallway until the soldiers stopped Jack and Angelica.
"We need you to be blindfolded. You can't know our location. If you refuse the blindfolds then we'll knock you out." They explained.
Both Jack and Angelica chose the blindfolds and put them on.
A few minutes later, they were removed and they could see that they were in a white castle.
"What is this place?" Angelica asked as she spun around in attempt to see everything.
"Palace of the Angels." One of the guards informed.
Angelica looked strait up and gasped at a beautiful mural on the ceiling.
"This is amazing." She commented.
The guards ignored her comment, and one of them walked over to her and touched her shoulder.
Angelica felt a tingling in her shoulder, then a burning. She collapsed to the floor in an agonizing pain.
Jack ran over in attempt to comfort her but the guard gave him the same painful touch.
Angelica soon regained the ability to stand and looked back at her shoulder. Large white wings fluttered behind her as she practiced moving them.
As Jack stood up, he looked behind him aswell. His wings were similar to Angelica's, but his were black.
"As soon as you touch Earth ground, you'll lose them." One of the guards informed.
"And once you become a true soldier, you have a smaller boundary of how far down to Earth you can go, so don't expect to visit that little boy of yours after you become a soldier." The other one crossed his arms.
Jack glared at the latter one.
"Or before you become a soldier. We'll be monitoring you." The first one laughed and winked at Angelica.
Sadness filled Angelica's face and Jack went to comfort her.
"I'll show you to your rooms." Adonis offered as he grabbed both of their elbows.
He led Angelica to a door, and Jack to one directly across the hall.
"Let me know if you have any trouble using those." He said.
"Why don't you have wings, Adonis?" Angelica asked curiously.
"I've touched Earth ground, remember?" He said. "They gave me the bolt for transportation though." He told them.
Angelica nodded.
"Sleep well, training starts tomorrow." Adonis walked away.
Jack watched him go, then crossed to Angelica. "If you need anything, just knock." He held her hands.
"Jack, I've slept by myself before. Plenty of times." She giggled.
Jack smiled.
"Something troubles you?" Angelica asked.
"What're we going to do about Jackie?" He lowered his head.
"Gibbs knows what to do. And he has that little Brit lass to distract him." Angelica gave him a smile.
Jack sadly smiled back and walked into his room.

"Ready for training?" Adonis asked as Jack and Angelica walked out of their rooms.
They nodded.
Adonis led them to a room with an excessive amount of weapons, machines, and seemingly torture devices.
"Hey there, names Thane." A man in exercise clothes introduced himself to Angelica.
"Jack." Jack outstretched his hand past Angelica to tell the man to back off.
Angelica gave Jack a strange look and put her hand out. "I am Angelica."
"Suits you." The man winked.
Jack put an arm around Angelica's waist.
"Alright to get started, your breaking points, we need to expand them." The man said and put a hand on Jack's shoulder.
Jack shook him off but felt pain where his hand was. After a few seconds he crashed to the floor in pain, bringing Angelica with him.
"What did you do to him?!" Angelica yelled at the man.
"It won't last long." The man answered.
Angelica tried to comfort Jack, but he was in a ball on the floor, writhing in extreme pain.
Eventually he got up and punched the man strait across the face.
"Lesson 2: respect your superiors or face punishment." Thane took Jack hard by the arm and led him to a pole. He wrapped Jack's arms around the pole and locked them in, then grabbed a whip and held it back, ready to strike.
"Wait!" Angelica ran in front of Jack and received his lash strait across her back.
"Lesson 3: protect each other at all costs. You have the right idea." He smiled in approval.
Angelica glared at him.
Thane released Jack, who immediately started cooing over Angelica's wound.
"I'm fine!" Angelica said after he had inspected every inch.
"He's right, it looks pretty bad. I'll take you to the infirmary." Thane took her arm and gently led her away, leaving Jack to watch them suspiciously as they went.
