I wear my work attire as I make a few more pancakes, Kakashi already sitting at the table and eating them, a glass of milk beside him.
I was going on a mission today, and had to go to the mission room in a few minutes.
Suddenly, there's a knock on the front door, causing Kakashi and I to look up. "Who could that be, I wonder?" I mutter. "I'll go check." I grip the spatula in hand after setting aside more pancakes and move to the main hallway. I open the door and was a little surprised to see Kiba and Akamaru there. A huge smile finds its way onto my face. "Good morning, Kiba-kun! Akamaru!"
He grins back as he chimes, "Morning, Yumi-chan! Hope you don't mind us dropping in for a visit before we head out on a mission."
I say, "Not at all! I was about to go on a mission myself after breakfast, so why don't we go to the mission room together? I've made pancakes, if you wanna stay a bit?"
Kiba's eyes light up as he says, "Do I ever! Your cooking is the absolute best, especially your pancakes!"
I giggle at his excitement and gesture with the spatula for him to go to the kitchen. "Come in, then!" Kiba rushes into the kitchen. I follow behind, dodging three cats, to see Kakashi has already finished his lot of pancakes, mask pulled back up over his face. I blink my eyes a few times before shaking my head at his closed eye smile.
I return to the stove as Kiba greets, "Hi, Kakashi Sensei. Hope you don't mind, but Yumi-chan's invited me for breakfast."
"Not at all. She's made enough pancakes to feed an entire army."
"Yeah, no kidding."
"Well, I'm off on a mission," Kakashi announces, standing up. He brings his dishes over and washes them up. "I'll back later."
"'Kay," I say with a quick glance at the silverette as he leaves the apartment.
I dish out my and Kiba's pancakes and bring over two glasses of milk. We eat breakfast and I wash up before we make our way to the mission room in the Ninja Academy for our missions.
