CHAPTER 73

The kids all come out running with smiles on they faces all happy about going home.

"You never heard anything from me okay" he says. I smile at the fact that he is looking out for me even though I'm not his real sister in law. It's very rare to find people who care for others in this dark world.

"Thank you Alex. I'll decide what to do next" I say.

"Daddy" little Reece comes out running into his father's arms. I look at the gate and there is no sign of Damien.

"Where's Damien?" I ask Reece.
"His not in my class. I waited for him outside his class but he was not there so I thought he is out already" he says and now my blood pressure shoots to the moon and back.

"Let's go" Alex says and we start running to the building. I can feel myself getting weak as my heart is beating faster. Alex picks Reece up so that he can catch up with me.

"Damien. Where's Damien?" I ask when I enter the form class with Alex and Reece behind me.

"He left with all the other kids" the teacher  says.
"Where could he have gone?..is this the art class?" Alex asks the teacher as I can't speak due to the pressure from my thoughts.

"No, let's go" she says and we all follow behind her. She takes us to a class full of paintings and boards. The lady cleaning there says she hasn't seen Damien or any other person come back.

"No, this can't be. I can't lose him" I say as I leave the class. Me and Alex go class to class and bathroom to bathroom but we don't find him. I should have listened to everyone when they said I'm not capable enough of looking after him.

"There's he. At the playground" Reece points outside and we start running downstairs straight to the playground.

"Damien" I say running to him. He is standing with a man who has his back against us. The moment I get close to him I pull him in a hug.

"Who you?" Alex asks the man. When I pull out of the hug and inspect his full body I turn to see the stranger.

"Tobias" I say standing up. He is everywhere I go.

"I seen him here alone so I thought I'd help him out..My daughter insisted" he says and I dust the sand off my pants.

"Thank you" I say. I take Damien's backpack and hold his hand before walking out of the school.

"Thanks once again Tobias" I say looking down.
"Oh, it's only a pleasure....and boy promise to never run off like that again. This world can be cruel at times" he says going on his one knee and touching Damien's shoulder.

"I'll see you'll around" Tobias says getting up and leaving in his big black range rover.

"You know him?" Alex asks me.
"His my colleagues husband" I say. How I wish I never knew him but he is always there on my darkest days. So his both a blessing and a problem.

"Okay, I'll see you'll later. Take care and don't forget what we spoke about" Alex says giving Damien a high five and walking over to his car. Me and Damien both enter my car and i drive off to mom's place. We stay there for hours and have supper before driving back home.

Damien has hardly said a word and I'm trying so hard to talk to him. "Hey cake. Welcome and wassup Damien" Vally says when we enter the house. Damien just nods his head and goes to his room.

"What's up with the moods?" He asks me when I sit down next to him.

"He went missing after school and we found him at the playground" I say holding my head. This was the worst thing I could ever face. And on the other side there's Natalie whose an inch close to finding out the truth.
