Addison sighed when Jake sent her the message saying that he wouldn't be able to pick her up. So, ignoring Fiolina's pleas to take a PickYou, she set off on foot in the direction of the bus stop.
Ten minutes go by with no bus arriving. Addison cursed under her breath, realising that she would've been more than halfway home had she started walking instead of pointlessly waiting.
Ignoring the dream that she only had that morning, Addison walked into the creepy alleyway that she loathed. She walked briskly along it and sighed in relief, seeing how she was near the end. Although, just as she was about exit, Addison felt herself being grabbed from behind.
'Come on,' Addison thought to herself as she started struggling out of the person's grasp.
She remembered watching a few videos on women's safety where ways to get out of such situations were taught, and Addison immediately set to work by bending forward to throw the person off. It took a few tries, but it worked somehow. Addison panted as she moved away from the person. She recognised them to be the crazy biker that had tried to nab her the other day before an encounter with the Superhero and started running off to leave the alleyway.
The Superhero stepped before her just then and pushed her to the back. They were both then left to watch as the crazy biker got onto their feet and ran towards them. The Superhero prepared to catch the biker.
The biker did not look fazed as they stepped forward with one looked like a gun and fired it towards the Superhero. In seconds, the Superhero fell to their ground.
"Superhero!" Was all Addison managed to exclaim, but was grabbed by other goons almost immediately.
It all happened so quickly, Addison didn't even get to think about the self-defence equipment she had in her bag.

Addison woke up in what looked like a cross between a barn and a science lab and the Superhero was lying face down beside her. Her back ached, probably from getting thrown to the ground with her bulging backpack still on her back. Addison was relieved to see that it was still intact.
"Superhero?" Addison called as she scooted to the Superhero's side. She hesitated slightly, but reached up and shook the Superhero's shoulder. "Superhero, you alright?"
There was a groan and the Superhero turned to face her. Addison sighed in relief as she sat back.
"You have any idea who took us?" Addison asked as the Superhero managed to sit up.
"That would be me," A voice interrupted them before the Superhero could gesture a response.
They both turned to see Fleurette standing there, now dressed in an all-white lab coat.
"Oh, no, she's gonna experiment on you!" Addison gasped as she pieced things together.
Fleurette's smile faded. "Wait, how did you know that?"
Addison shrugged. "Isn't it obvious? This is how nearly every superhero movie would go, it would somehow become all science-y. Also, my friends and I have been worrying about this exact same thing for months?"
Fleurette ignored her. "Well, I have prepared my speech, so I'm going to deliver it anyway."
Addison frowned at that and the Superhero looked dismayed as he shook his head and rested an elbow on top of a raised knee.
"So, you all know about the Superhero," Fleurette began, putting on an evil smile once again as she paced around the room. "One being with an ability so valuable. It's the secret to teleportation."
Addison sighed and exchanged glances with the Superhero.
"Is this ability genetic? Or is it some sort of mutation?" Fleurette smirked as she glanced their way. "Can this thing be harnessed?"
"What you're saying is: I want to cut the Superhero open and she what's going on in his brain," Addison piped up. "That's all there is to this, isn't there?"
The Superhero nudged her shoulder, much to her surprise, and looked as if he was trying to keep himself from laughing aloud.
Fleurette looked disappointed, but she smirked. "Well, talk all you want. You will be our first test subject, Addie."
"And you were the mad biker that had been stalking us," Addison added.
"Pfft," Fleurette scoffed. "Mad biker."
"Well, you are a biker, and you also seem like a mad person, so yeah," Addison shrugged. "Stark raving mad."
Fleurette decided to leave the scene then, but that was not before telling them to enjoy their last moments of freedom before her people would arrive to start killing them or something. The threat wasn't very clear, but there was one thing that was crystal clear to Addison and the Superhero.
They had to get out of here. FAST.
Addison immediately turned back to the Superhero. "Can you teleport us out of here?"
The Superhero raised his shaking hands and tried to use his powers. A spark of light appeared, then nothing. The Superhero shook his head dismally as he looked at Addison.
"Right, you have no energy," Addison said, taking her bag off. "I may have something in here..." she rummaged in it for a bit, seemed glad that her tablet was completely unharmed inside the hard-shelled case that she had placed it in, then pulled out a plastic bag from the convenience store that she worked at. "Here, this is my dinner. There are a few things in there, as well as a bottle of milk. Eat up."
The Superhero looked grateful as he lifted his mask and started eating whatever that was in the bag. Addison politely turned away and tried to power up her phone to call for help, but there was no signal. No wonder Fleurette seemed so relaxed at the fact that she still had her big bag of belongings.
Addison sighed and stuffed her phone back into her bag and looked around. It really was a barn that doubled as a science lab. The walls were red with white strips, just as how a barn would look, and there were science equipment everywhere.
"Hey, this place doesn't seem all that big," Addison said. "Should we blow the joint? Like... literally?"
The Superhero turned to look at her in surprise, mask still slightly raised as Addison got onto her feet and walked around the room. There were gas canisters on one side and Addison wondered how many Bunsen burners they would even use. There were actual Bunsen burners as well and Addison lifted one to give it a slight shake. It felt as if it was freshly refilled.
"I know I'm against killing people normally, but this Fleurette person seems like she would come for us if we don't get rid of her first," Addison said, turning to the Superhero. "Running away from here is one thing, but how long would it take for her to find us again? I mean, sure, you'd just go under the radar or something, resume your secret normal life, but what about me? I have college and this is the only identity I have!"
The Superhero put his mask back on and nodded, much to Addison's surprise.
"Oh, wow, so my idea of blowing this place up isn't all that bad, then," Addison smirked. "You done eating? Because I have a plan."
