Fiolina met up Addison and Jordan for breakfast. Since it wasn't her shift yet, she was free.
"I'm glad it turned out the way it did," Fiolina said, stirring her drink. "Also, this place is pretty nice."
"Yeah, and the price isn't bad too," Addison said. She realised that her two friends were giving each other puppy dog eyes and sighed. "Also, I think I should go. I wanna check on Jeff."
Fiolina lit up at that. "Oh, yes! You got him lunch yesterday, right?"
"Maybe you should get him some Sundeer," Jordan added before spooning some apple pie into his mouth.
Addison made a face at him and got up. "No. I'll get him something else."
Jordan shrugged and went back to his pie.
"I'll come over for my shift later, okay?" Fiolina said.
Addison smiled and waved at her. "Bye!"
She took her food package and drink, then left the restaurant. As soon as she was out, she spotted the two of them scooting closer and heaved a sigh of relief at the fact that she was safely outside. Addison turned to the road and paused for a moment. Should she really go see Jeff? Or should she head run some errands (go shopping) instead?
Addison chose the latter and grinned to herself as she made her way to the bus stop to take the bus over to Spinner Street.
When Addison went to the convenience store an hour and a half before her shift, she was surprised to see Jordan and Fiolina there.
"There we go, your gang member is finally here," Jeff said with a smile.
Fiolina turned to her with a slight frown. "You said you were coming straight here."
Addison held up the blue bag she was holding. "Change of plans. I had to go to Holmes' for skincare."
The couple rolled their eyes while Jeff burst into laughter.
"You know, I'm actually surprised that Hoodie is showing his face here at all," Jeff smirked. "You seemed pretty scared the other day, bro."
"And I was," Jordan admitted. "You were quite vicious."
Jeff looked touched. "Thank you, bro."
Addison made her way over to the food warmer and was greeted by one more pack of noodles. "Yes! There is one more left."
"Yeah, it's usually slow on Sundays," Jeff said. "But not at night though." He suddenly pointed at Jordan. "You, bro. I'm watching you."
Jordan groaned. "Come on, you've been doing that since I got here."
Jeff started laughing at that. "Yes, and I mean it." He leaned forward on the counter. "But seriously, I am keeping an eye on you."
"Yeah, sure, whatever," Jordan rolled his eyes.
Fiolina giggled. "Come on, go easy on him, Jeffy. He already got a dose on the way here."
Addison and Jeff exchanged doubtful glances when she returned to the counter with the noodles and a bottle of water.
"Anywho," Jordan cut in. "Our teacher, right? Galante?"
"What about him?" Jeff smirked, scanning the things that Addison took. "He erased his moustache?"
That sent the rest into fits of laughter and he couldn't help but start laughing as well.
"No, seriously, what happened?" Jeff said when they finally stopped.
"He went out somewhere with his girlfriend," Addison snorted, placing her card on the reader. "And here I was scared that he was being too clingy."
"Nah, you ain't the only one with that fear, sister," Jordan shook his head. "He came after me too, remember?"
Addison snorted and made a gesture with her hand where all of her fingers met. "Capelli Rossi!"
Jordan frowned. "Stop that."
"Alright, alright, stop that," Fiolina chuckled as she got up, placed a hand on Jordan's shoulder as well. "I think we should let Addie have her lunch and go for ours now."
Jordan immediately got up and went to the counter, then got a few bars of chocolate before heading out with his girlfriend. The two of them waved at them with knowing grins on their faces. Addison rolled her eyes as she sat down the chair that faced the counter, a frown on her face as she did.
"Ugh, her butt's so hot," Addison grimaced at the chair's temperature. "How long have they been here?"
"About an hour," Jeff said. "Apparently, they wanted to drop by and see you, but then stayed since they were so worried for you." He smirked. "Also, Pookie!" He pouted and arranged his fingers to form a heart in front of him.
"Eww, come on," Addison groaned. "As if I didn't have to deal with that all through breakfast."
Jeff snickered. "Oh, they're disgusting. I hope they never change."
Addison smirked. "You ship them too, don't you?"
"Sure I do," Jeff shrugged, smirking. "They're kinda cute together." He leaned over the counter and looked at her. "How are you doing?"
Addison shrugged. "Better, I guess. I'm actually used to the body-shaming comments, just not when they're coming from my close friends."
"Ignore that," Jeff sighed and straightened himself. "You're beautiful just the way you are." He smirked. "Also, I already knocked some sense into him. Well, more like talked some sense into him." He scowled and raised a fist. "Should've knocked instead."
"Jeff, come on," Addison sighed. "But thanks for doing that." She smiled, blushing slightly. "It's nice to know that there is someone watching my back."
Jeff gave her a knowing look. "Come on, you sure it's just me? It seems like the Superhero had to go on overtime just to save your butt more times than either of us can count."
Addison grinned sheepishly. "Yeah, there's also that. I think I owe him more than I think..."
"Well, maybe you do," Jeff shrugged. "Anyways, seen him lately?"
"No, not much," Addison sighed. "Last I saw him was when he walked into the shop."
"Right, the time you told him about that aunt of yours."
"Yeah, that SlurpSlurp story. It's actually a really sad story."
"It is," Jeff nodded solemnly. "But anyway, I work off my SlurpSlurp so I'm pretty sure I'll be fine."
Addison frowned at him, her head tilted slightly. "What do you do, Jeff?"
Jeff shrugged like the answer was obvious. "Gym."
"Right, the one in front of Harvington, right?"
"That's the one," Jeff nodded. "I go there between class, pump some iron, do some power walking on the treadmill, and I've started eating healthier, save for the SlurpSlurp, of course. I'm just using that as an extra boost of energy."
Addison nodded slowly, with an air of suspicion. "Right."
Jeff shook his head. "It's alright if you don't believe me. I don't need your validation."
"Ah!" Addison gasped, then started laughing. "Alright, alright. I'll quit jabbing you about the SlurpSlurp story."
Jeff smirked. "Thank you, Dietician."
Alright, I started this book in early 2021, and it's still going on! So last year, in 2025, I managed to finish THREE books that I had been procrastinating to write. I'm proud of myself since one of them, Afterwards: The Fourth Tekken Novel, had actually been stagnant for almost FIVE years before I got a burst of inspiration to finish it last year. As for KOF Tournament, I got a similar sort of inspiration when I got a little idea and that helped to finish the book. Lastly, there was also The House, which I had also started in 2021, but did not get to finish since I didn't have much ideas. It was actually based on true events, just that I had to add some sauce to spice things up. For that, I got my inspiration by researching more and more of the events that story is based on, and I ended up finding myself in a situation similar to the one the main character of that book faced. The spiral of seeking information from a lost past that only gave me more questions than it did answers. So yes. I am now wondering what will be the motivation boost to finish this book.
Maybe it would be an act of procrastination? Or will it be something else? After all, I know how this book will end, but it's not like that helped me finish this earlier.
So I will try to push through with this story. After all, I really like writing the characters. I was rereading a few of the latest chapters yesterday and ended up laughing out loud at how funny it was. So I will try.
Love,
