Addison arrived home after her shift and took a quick shower and went through her skincare routine. After that, she had a dinner of the same Chinese porridge that they got for Jeff earlier. She managed to find the shop and ordered it online and managed to time it perfectly so that it would arrive just as she got home.
Felicia still looked disappointed though.
"Addie, you know you're welcome to join us for dinner, right?" Felicia said as soon as Addison told her what she was holding. "Instead of wasting money on outside food?"
"Nah, it's fine, Felicia," Addison smiled at her then. "It's a pretty cold day and this porridge seemed good."
It was also quite expensive since she spent about twenty bucks on that porridge together with delivery fees, but she knew for a fact that it would be good since it was from the new vegetarian shop that she and Jordan had visited.
Addison sighed and decided to call her parents while having the porridge and it was a long talk. Addison was exhausted by the time it was over and ended up conking off on the table without realising it.
Addison found herself walking through a lonely street and heard the muffled sound of sobbing. She realised that it came from a person that was slumped against the ground, hugging their knees as they trembled in their arms. Addison got down beside them and placed a hand on the person's back in an attempt to comfort them.
The person quickly looked up at her, their white face a mask of cracks, and Addison realised that it was the Superhero.
"You just be going through a lot of things, being the town's saviour and all," Addison said, giving the Superhero's shoulder a gentle squeeze. "Would him like something to eat?"
When the Superhero nodded, Addison took her bag off and pulled out a whole rotisserie chicken from it—complete with a platter, lettuce, and sliced lemons—and handed it to them. "Here."
And the Superhero gobbled down it whole, bones and all. Addison seemed amused by the way the Superhero had inhaled the meal and got up. "Well, I'm going home now."
And then she spotted a mad biker doing scary dances at the end of the alleyway. Addison wasn't sure why those dances were scary since they were more to ridiculous, but the sight did put Addison in a fight or flight mode.
And then the Superhero stepped in and joined the dance, doing the floss and foxtrot at the same time somehow. Addison decided to turn around and flee at that point, but came face-to-face with a bulldozer.
It came close, closer, and then she slipped and fell onto the ground.
And then opened her eyes and found herself on the chair in her room, her legs numb and her table a mess. Addison groaned and moved her legs up and down, then went to bed, realising how ridiculous the dream was.
Addison made her way downstairs and spotted the rest of her housemates having breakfast in the dining hall. Felicia seemed to have prepared quite the spread, so Addison readily sat herself with them.
"It feels so weird knowing that one of my tenants just ran out of me and left me a sum of money," Felicia complained. "And why did she have to leave more money? If that's the case, what's the point of the deposit that I had her pay? She paid two-months worth of rent and then left another half month rent before leaving abruptly."
Jake couldn't help but chuckle. "She literally peaced out."
Jordan snorted. "This guy."
"But he ain't wrong," Giuseppe piped up. "She did peace out so suddenly, and it wasn't even in peace."
"Yeah, that's true," Addison nodded. "And she was so rude too."
The doorbell rang all of a sudden and Felicia sighed and went to see what was happening. Jake went with her. The three tenants exchanged glances, then placed their empty plates onto the platters before going after them as well.
To their surprise, it was Fleurette herself standing at the doorway, looking quite apologetic as she spoke to Felicia.
"Do you think she's planning to come back?" Jordan asked Addison in a love voice.
"I sure hope not," Addison sighed. "That's the last thing we need right now."
Turns out, Fleurette did not want to stay back, but felt so sorry for the way she acted on Friday and had come to apologise with a bag of fruit.
"You want your deposit back?" Felicia asked as she accepted the fruits.
Fleurette shook her head. "It's alright, I found another place to stay as well."
"Rich kid..." Giuseppe whispered to himself, earning a nudge from Jake.
It also made them wonder what kind of a financial situation Giuseppe was even in since he did spend half of his salary for the mahogany coffee table.
And after acknowledging the rest, Fleurette left the chat. Felicia watched Fleurette get onto her bike and leave before she closed the door and turned to them.
"Okay, that was odd," Felicia said, then held up the bag of fruit that she was holding. "Anyone wants sliced fruit?"
"Maybe we can make some fruit cocktail," Giuseppe piped up. "What do you guys think?"
The rest seemed to like the idea.
"I'll supply the dressing," Jordan offered and took his phone out.
"Are we eating out for lunch again?" Jake asked.
Felicia shrugged. "I don't mind."
"I'll supply lunch," Giuseppe offered. "I'll just order delivery so that we can eat at home. How's that?"
"I'll supply drinks?" Addison said, taking her phone out. "Posiden Coffee?"
"Oh! I like the honey milk!" Jordan grinned. "And make it iced for me."
"I think I'd like that too," Felicia nodded. "Thanks, Addie. Thanks, Giuseppe."
Everyone said what they wanted to eat or drink and the orders were made. The ingredients for the salad, a few more fruit and some honey, was ordered by Jordan as well. Three delivery riders arrived at nearly the same time.
Addison surprised Jeff by bringing a container of the fruit cocktail, even accompanied by Jake since he dropped her before joining them to hang out.
"I might have to work late today, so I'll inform you if that happens," Jake said.
Jeff groaned, one hand holding a spoonful of sliced fruit. "Come on. That's a recipe for disaster."
Addison clicked her tongue and shook her head at Jeff. "I'll be fine."
"Is what you always say before something disastrous goes down," Jeff frowned. "Even if you just take a short trip to the bank."
Jake couldn't help but snort. "Oh yeah, that happened. I can't help you with that, Addie."
"Also, this fruit cocktail is good," Jeff smiled at Jake. "Thank your mother for me, bro."
"Sure thing, bro," Jake smiled back.
