After what seemed like a long chase and an endless night.. Maple found herself back in the festival, waiting for Andrew to return and find another attire to wear, other than his butt showing long johns that is.
Maple made sure her parents, nor Uncle Jeffy, knew of the events that had just previously happened. She didn't dare. Especially how it appeared they were immensely enjoying their time. Plus she didn't want yet another unwanted lecture about Tator and his stolen kisses. Nor for her daddy and uncle to join in on the hunt. That's the last thing she needed. Besides She felt daddy Woods, could only handle her being with one fella a night. Andrew was enough. For their sake, she pretended like the festival was perfect...
But Cinderella ball this was not... To say Maple was disappointed was an understatement. She couldn't believe this is how her night turned out.
Soon the night was starting to come to an end. Maple couldn't have been any happier. Saying good night to all, Andrew Wellington was finally ready and suited to escort a moderately unfulfilled Maple, home...
It felt like the entire ride home, was stained in an awkward silence, till they finally pulled across the street to her house...
Andrew went to help Maple out of his car...
"I'm sorry bout tonight Maple." He said grabbing Maple's hand to help her out.
"So am I." She softly replied.
"Some costume." He said looking down at his new attire. "I went from bein a big bad wolf, to uh, uh... what is this is?"
"I have no idea." Maple suddenly giggled. "But it seems to suit you very well." She teased.
"Oh does it?" Andrew laughed amused.
"Quite!" Maple laughed louder.
"Glad, I could entertain you." He chuckled.
Maple smiled. Delighted by his sense of humor. At least there was that she thought. Unfortunately, the awkward silence soon returned. With that, Maple gently took her hand from his...
"Well, goodnight Andrew..." She said as she started to walk across the street to her house. Andrew cut her off.
"Before we officially say good night, Maple, I want to apologize for disappearin on you like that. You see__"
"Wasn't yo fault." Maple understandably replied.
"Yes... well nonetheless, I kin assure I will take care of that Tator next time I see him." Andrew scowled.
"Oh? You mean you didn't catch him?" Maple inquisitively asked.
"Nah!" A frustrated Andrew replied. "Lucky for him, he had a head start. Plus he's too fast. All I saw was that waggin tail runnin for the hills." He hissed outloud.
Maple snickered at the thought, but quickly straightened her face.
"Well I'm sure he's halfway outta town by naw or some em." She replied trying to hide her slight amusement of what had occurred. "Waggin tail and all."
"Hmm.." Andrew grumbled.
"Well Andrew... tonight has been unmistakably without a doubt, interestin. Thank you, for escortin me ho__"
"I wan another chance." Andrew interjected.
"Umm..."
"I mean, tonight didn't turn out the way either one of us wanted it. Did it?"
"I kin honestly say no." Maple agreed.
"Then go out with me again." Andrew said leaning in closer to Maple.
