Being chosen by one of the four lords is supposed to be a blessing among the people as they say. A gift they give to us as the elders tell in tales from when they were young. Passing the stories on from generation to generation. That it was a miracle if you were chosen among the crowd for your new duties to serve the lords you work shipped. You would say you were like the crowd when you were young, excited over everything and naive as for what was to come in the future. It was supposed to be a special day for those that were in a certain age group. Around 18-26 you would say as your place was in the 20's. Managing to skip the past two years and slipped by without getting picked. They were treated to a feast and gifts by their families as they were to go on to the ceremony and get chosen or left for the village to consume. Not all were chosen though as one might think only few, maybe 6 or so. The families seen this as a chance to have their child treated with royalty by the lords if they were sent off to work for them. Taking any chance they got to make you stand out among the others to increase your value.

Although after everything, after feeling nice for once in your life you had this sick feeling in your stomach that this was all wrong. As soon as you were ready for the day a head of you you just felt out of place. Not admitting to your parents that you didn't care for your religion here among the village. Thinking that these people spending every day cherishing these Lords as if they have given them life and wealth was quite ignorant. That they couldn't live their own lives for their own purpose. Everything went to the lords, prayed for them and let them decide what the people would do in times of need. It wasn't something you cared for which was why you weren't especially excited about what was to come for you in the future as you grew up to be in the ceremony.

You stood tall among the crowd for your shorter height, not wanting to stand out like your mother had wanted. Telling you while getting you ready what you needed to do and how you needed to act. Yet the whole time you held back retorting if you know so much then why weren't you chosen back when you were in the ceremonies. Staying in the village was fine by you, maybe even what you wanted so you could continue your simple life. But fate had another plan for you that night as you stood among the rest that could be picked. Your gaze wandered among the crowd, among the lights and candles, the craftsmanship in the statues, among the four lords that entered and sat tall in their seats with this aura around them. You watched, holding back your aw as each one walked out with their own assortment of dominance. Getting your up close look of them that was just like last years. Still breathtaking to you for some odd reason or another. As you stared you instantly pulled your gaze away among realizing Lord Heisenberg was smirking at you. Probably making fun of how pathetic you looked never seeing anything like this in your life when he sees this all of the time.

From that point forward you had kept your head down, ignoring the chattering among you of the people that were way too excited for your tastes. Smiling, laughing and gossiping about who they would want to be stuck with while you shunned yourself from them in waiting. Hoping it would make you seem less desirable and that you could just return home. Bearing the idea of your return just like last year, your mother scolding you for not standing out enough, that disappointed look in your father's eye as he would watch in the corner before leaving without a word. Already having the perfect picture of them in your head to prepare yourself for.

Yet every time you glanced around and were stuck in thought you felt a gaze come and go from you, the lord that had caught you looking at him before. He would steal a look, a quick peak to watch you down below among the other quite ignorant children as he liked to call them. People of no use to him up in his factory, word was he never chose anyone during the ceremonies. In fact he only chose one person long ago and has never chosen anyone since then. He watched you carefully as you studied your surroundings, your tough exterior as you stood with your hands behind your back. He knew what you were doing, this game you were playing of making yourself look incapable of being picked. He noticed it last year and the year before as you stood waiting patiently to get this thing over with as did he. While the other talked and laughed, showing they were social and happy you stood there with a simple smile and glance. A nod here and there if anyone tried to conversate with you. Your act intrigued him as he watched from up above,
