You are an ordinary citizen of the village, well not exactly ordinary in a way. Ordinary would mean you would be obsessed with Mother Miranda and the four lords that looked after you common folk. Devoting your lives to pray to her as if she was some god that could help anyone who needed her. That is what was considered ordinary in this village you lived in so you could say you weren't ordinary. More of an outcast, that was the word you were looking for. You were the opposite of those people, it wasn't that you didn't believe Miranda and her lords were powerful no. You have seen them before, they weren't just figures that you saw a picture of and believe in randomly. No you knew they possessed some type of power, you were afraid of them. You didn't devote yourself to them you made sure you stirred clear of their path. Living on the outskirts of town was one thing, but distancing yourself from the other townsfolk was another. They didn't hate you for your choice, in fact you never told them of your dislike for their religion. You just said you were a private person and liked living out on your own from them.
The sound of your axe echoed throughout the woods as you slammed it against the tree you were trying to chop down. Living out on your own meant you needed to do almost everything on your own as well. What you didn't buy from town you had to make due on your own. Chopping wood came easy to you, it was how you made your money anyhow. You chopped down trees on the outskirts and sold them to the Duke who you were good friends with. It was how you got by since living out here on your own and you were okay with that. You didn't want to freeze over now do you.
Pulling your axe from the suddenly cut you used your weight and slashed the wood again. Cutting deeper and deeper into the grain until you were half the way done. You shivered from the cold, the wind was picking up around you from the snow storm that was about to come in a few hours. A small sigh escaped your lips as you held your hands together, breathing into them to keep warmth. Soon a sneeze escaped you, you didn't take good care of yourself that was for sure. Knowing you were coming down with something from the exposure to the weather. Your thin jacket just wasn't enough to keep you warm out here anymore and the lack of gloves made your hands almost numb by the time you were done out here.
"Ugh....fuck it's getting colder out here...I need to get this done before sundown" You muttered under your breath as you shuddered against the cold air. The snow continued to fall like it normally did, the snowy chunks seemed bigger then before but that could be blamed on the fact it was the middle of winter. Your grabbed a hold of your axe, swinging it a few more times before the tree fell to the ground with a loud thud. The snow flung up from the ground as the wood laid there still, now you just needed to chop it up small enough to haul back on your sled you brought with.
As you began to chop into the wood once more you hadn't realized there was a pair of eyes on you. Staring at you as you worked efficiently out here in the woods alone. It was as if you had no worry of anything that could hurt you out here, or were you oblivious as to how close you were to a certain factory that had lycans running around for their prey. He smirked as he breathed out a puff of smoke from his cigar that was finished. Pulling it from his lips and let it drop to the ground, the heel of his boot smashed it where it had laid. He had been watching you for a while now, on his way to grab some scrap from the yard when he saw you walk through the woods on the outskirts. A place barely anyone seemed brave enough to explore and travel. Your presence there intrigued him so much so it distracted him from his work. Following where you traveled through the woods to a spot you had been collecting wood at. He watched as you slowly got colder and colder, your cheeks red as your body shivered as you worked.
His footsteps were quiet as he walked closer to you, watching you swing your axe over and over again even though it surely had to be getting dull. He smiled at you as he walked behind you to a tree.
