Your footsteps seemed to echo as you walked through the halls of the hospital, it was your first visit back after coming here to drop off your dear friend after your mission to save the president's daughter. The mission was a success in returning her home safe, just like you and your partner Leon Kennedy set out to achieve once you were given the order. Although it wasn't an easy mission, heading in there to retrieve her and leaving like you had assumed. Rather there were many challenges to deal with along the way and some were even more life threatening than others to everyone that tagged along with you.

A small bouquet of flowers was held in your grasp as well as a familiar maroon jacket as you continued to make your way down the hall the nurses told you to go down. Giving you the room number that the brunette was staying in since he made it out of recovery for his wounds he had gotten. You remember the situation quite well in fact, back in the underground section of the castle you and your partner had gotten stranded in. The Spaniard appeared, viles in hand that would prevent your infection from spreading further. You couldn't get enough of him when he would stay around you, making sure you were alright and cared for after your constant battles. The way he looked at you was unlike anyone you had ever been with. So caring and yearning for you, as if he held a constant gaze toward you like you amazed him consistently. He was so sweet and kind, not to mention when he would call you those pet names oh it would fluster you beyond what anyone would think. But you had just met him, your time together was only a few hours long but in those hours there were moments you couldn't deny your feelings about him.

He stuck with you and Leon throughout the mine, holding you on the rail cart to make sure you wouldn't fall out the side and into the abyss below. Although he hated the huge bugs that attacked you all he made sure your back was covered as you headed up the mine and through the elevator. The ride up was peaceful besides Leon's questioning against him, but with that out of mind you remembered asking him what he was going to do after all of this. Being that you were trying to escape the island with Ashley you offered for him to come with you. That he could start new, the Spaniard waited with his answer as he exited the elevator. Telling you he would love to come with you both, but before he got to the catch as to why he thought he couldn't he stopped. A knife went through his back just to the side of his spine where everything would have been over with. You watched as he fell to the ground, tears slipping down your cheeks as you thought he was laying dead before you.

That day was one you would never forget in your lifetime, not just because of the scars you earned along the way. But the lasting effect on your mind of everything that seemed to happen. How scared you were as you watched Luis lay there against the floor in so much pain and agony. The thought of him dying hurt you so much as you fought with Krauser after his stabbing. You really thought he was going to die, you really thought he was dead on the ground and there was nothing you could do or say about it to prevent his death. 

Your knuckles came into contact with the door as you stood there, a soft smile on your face as you stood half way in the doorway. The brunette turned his gaze away from the window, a tired look in his eyes as he grinned from ear to ear upon your grand entrance. 

"Well look what the cat dragged in...my beautiful senorita all dressed up, what's the occasion?" His voice brought butterflies to your stomach as you made your way into his hospital room. It was small, fit with a TV to keep him occupied as he sat here waiting to be discharged in a few days after his recovery. The damage done to his back was fixed, leaving a scar where the knife had entered. Just missing his spinal cord by a few inches, he was lucky to have only suffered some tearing in his muscle and some fluid in his lung.
