--------------------

A groan escaped your lips as you laid across the cold floor, feeling the flames burn next to you from the fire that surrounded the broken down train you were trying to escape on. Your hand laid on your stomach as you managed to push yourself away from the rubble that could have crushed you. Feeling the room spin almost as you laid there, shutting your eyes in order to ground yourself once more. A struggling cough escaped your lips, noticing an iron taste that covered your tongue from the deep cut along your lip. The smoke was getting bad here, knowing it was causing more damage to your body than you had expected. Remembering what had happened in the first place to lead you here.

An escape from the city was what you could call it, or an attempt for that matter. After the outbreak started on the people that lived here you had found out that since you were apart of the S.T.A.R.S unit that you would be targeted from your interference with the mansion incident a while back. Only being able to make it out of there with enough time to find Jill from Brad coming to find you to warn you. It was rough and you were short on time to find her and to make it out of there. Fighting the monsters that roamed the streets and worst of all the B.O.W that decided it had a taste of S.T.A.R.S flesh. In the back of your mind you knew it was not going to be easy making it out of the city. It was bad enough staying here to help Jill with her investigation since she was suspended from the force. But the fact that you both were targeted because you knew too much just went to show you that they were trying to tie up loose ends in Umbrella. The night continued on shortly after that, meeting Carlos who would soon be an ally to you in trying to get you to safety. Running back and forth to try and get the train station on until finally you stepped on board to leave just for it to be destroyed.

Leaving you to this point in time, in pain and out of breath from getting the wind knocked out of you. Your eyes began to open, stinging from the smoke in the air as you laid back. Attempting to push yourself further away from the wreckage beside you.

"J-Jill!" You called out, your hand grabbed a hold of your chest as you began to sit up where you laid at for who knows how long. Your eyes darted around, feeling your body relax once you found her starting to stand up. Coughing into her shoulder as her hand rested on the side of the wrecked train. She was alright, that was all that mattered to you. You smiled as you watched her, wincing as you attempted to push yourself up even more. Something was wrong, you could feel a stabbing sensation in your side as you began to stand. Your fist came to your mouth as you began to cough harshly.

"I-I'm okay" You heard her call out, watching as she glanced over her shoulder at you as you struggled to stand. There were more important things to worry about then this pain was all you could think. Starting with getting out of here before the rest of the train decided to fall over or explode. Your hand reached down to your side, lifting your pistol from its holster. Your footsteps echoed throughout the train tunnel as you began to walk forward, joining Jill at her side.

"Are we the only ones who made it?" She suddenly asked, her voice sounding so small and desperate. You gazed over your shoulder at the wreckage, not surprised that no one else would have survived that. But it was a miracle that you both even made it out of there with little injuries from what you could see.

"I'm not sure...judging by the look of the wreck we probably shouldn't even be standing right now" You replied, hearing the sounds of the crank turning as she tried to pull the door open. You knew your wounds needed to be treated, you were more damaged by the two of you. A burn lines your forearm as well as some cuts along your skin. But what was bothering you more was this pain in your chest, it felt like it was burning and stabbing you from the inside out almost. Breaking from your thoughts you watched as she pushed the door open with all of her weight. Leading into another part of the sewer system that lined the underground of the city. A small sigh escaped your lips as you walked inside, the realization that you were still stuck in the city burned but you needed to get over that.
