Movie/Game : Resident Evil 3

-------------------

It was like hell on earth all over again, fighting for survival amidst the chaos of Raccoon City. The crowds of the dead were vicious and unforgiving once their numbers became too much to handle for anyone on their own. This city was taken over by these monsters in just a few days, any place seemed like a death trap no matter where you went anymore. Even places where one thought could hold potential of being a safe haven, just like the hospital where you both ended up heading to after finding your dear friend Jill passed out after becoming infected in the unforgiving streets of this place. The hospital wasn't too far away, it was quiet and barely touched by the dead once you both walked in and sat her down. Knowing the vaccine was her only chance of living once more rather than being turned into the enemy on the table she laid across.

Yet even with searching this place for the cure, even with all the hard work it took to truly save her. It didn't take long for the place to be overrun, zombies lurches from every shadow, their guttural moans echoing off the once sterile walls as they piled in through the broken windows before the emergency protocol could be finished in order to protect the building. You and Carlos moved in sync, each action a desperate attempt to protect the other in this fight among the crowd of the dead that managed to push their way inside the building you both were trying so hard to protect. You were a well oiled machine as you fought with no break, but even machines have their limits and you were close to yours as it seemed the enemies continued to bust inside this place. Over and over again when you think you can catch your breath more and more come in. Carlos gazed over his shoulder at you, watching you work to make sure you were alright. He noticed the look of discomfort upon your face as you stood there. Firing rounds after rounds in order to kill off the pests that entered the building.

He turned on his heel, Smashing a zombie's head in with the butt of his rifle. Blood seemed to splatter everywhere as the body fell to the floor with a loud thud just like the rest of them that piled the floor. He was tired of this, tired of fighting these monsters that seemed to never quit chasing and attacking. The emergency doors were down and yet they were still coming in through the one area that was open still. They were lucky that the C4 managed to break down that pillar and make a wall of debris at the doors. Otherwise the amount of ammo would have hurt to see at this point from how much it took to even begin this fight with let alone end it.

For a moment it was quiet after he answered Tyrell's call to ask if  they were alright. A mix of emotions were running through his head as he stood there and finally took the chance to catch his breath for once. As he stole a glance over toward you he noticed how you seemed to stare off into space, panting from how tired you were. Carlos smiled softly, running a hand through his sweat-soaked hair.

"That was too close," He muttered, his breath ragged as he watched you nod while trying to catch your own breath currently. But something was wrong, he noticed that once he saw the distracted look upon your face as you continued to stand there. He thought once this was over, you two would hug, a gentle kiss on the lips to show that you were both alright and grateful that the fight was over. He wanted to just hold you for a second in order to get that clarity and yet you stood so far away from what it seemed like. Something was wrong, it seemed like as the adrenaline faded a dull throbbing pain began to creep through your body. Carlos' half-smile on his lips quickly vanished when he saw your pained expression take place.

"Hey babe, you okay?" He asked, worry edging into his voice as he footsteps were heard coming closer toward you as you stood there in your own thoughts currently. Yet it was like you couldn't hear him, the sound of blood dripping to the floor seemed deafening in the small room to you. As he walked closer he followed your eyes as you gazed at your arm, his eyes began to widen at the sight of a wound that lay across your skin. Where a bite mark stood out starkly, teeth marks embedded deep into your flesh, blood practically oozing from the wound and down to your elbow before the droplets hit the floor in a quick fashion. A soft laugh escaped your lips, a nervous laugh that almost seemed as if it was covering the pain in your voice as you both thought that this wasn't real. Both of you were so strong, so quick and worked swiftly as if nothing could touch you and yet this had to happen. How could this have happened? How could you have let this happen?
