Movie/Game : Resident Evil 2
--------------------
The police station was a place you thought would for sure have sanctuary among the un-dead crowd that clawed it's way through the ones still living. Scavengers that roamed for food, to tear the lives away from those who still had a heart pumping and a mind of their own. This place was foreign to you, a place you thought would be safe after stumbling in among the crowd in the cop car you rode with your friend of a few years and a new face you felt you could trust. It was funny thinking about it now as you roamed the almost vacant police station. How it was supposed to be your first day here with Leon. A change of scenery in your line of work compared to where you both used to be. Deciding to take the opportunity together and to jump in to the pit of endless possibilities just to wind up in some hell where monsters were eating people alive. Something you never thought would have happened until it met your eyes unwillingly
With the police car wrecking and losing sight of Claire you were stuck with him as you ran inside the gates and locked them. Remembering him staring at you before pulling you into a hug as you entered the building. Trying to calm you of what you both had just experienced outside. A simple panic attack that haunted you as you tried to calm yourself in his strong arms. Hearing him tell you not to worry, that it would be okay and that you both were making it out of here if he had anything to say about it. A part of you wanted to believe him, yet the horrors that branded themselves in your head made it so hard not to see any light of this situation at all.
Thinking it would be a different scenario in the building you were brought to the conclusion no where was safe anymore. Facing the horrors of the inside of the building where you thought things would have turned out differently. Perhaps some protection, people and an explanation of what the hell was happening around you. Not dead bodies, blood everywhere and a book you got from a half eaten person on the "how to get out of here" situation. You were skeptical but followed Leon's lead on this, gearing up once you found Marvin and tried to look for the metal keys to unlock the basement layer of the place.
Being the glass half empty person you were you always thought of the bad endings to this place as you wandered around. Searching for answers along the way with exploring the building and the monsters that it withheld from the outside. The people you were going to work with that turned and reached for you in a starving manner. There were so many things running through your mind it was so hard to think clearly. How did this all happen, why here, what was going to happen to everyone infected, was their a cure, how were you going to make it out of here alive. Endless questions with no answers as you followed silently at times to cover Leon from the back. Searching room by room as best you could without getting attacked by the fiends trying to make their way to you. You gazed at him as you walked close behind him with your gun in hand. Wandering what was running through his head at the moment as you crept down the dark hall together.
He always seemed to keep calm better then you at times. He held a scared expression yet you felt he hadn't had what anxiety you had of trying to piece everything together. Ever since you could remember he would always help you through your overthinking spurts. Trying to calm you and assure you that everything would be okay. That there was a better way of thinking or to not get so worked up. Especially with asking for a job here back at the old office, him by your side as you called and asked the job after he called for his. He seemed so calm and thrilled that you were going to ask for a job with him. Like you little cheerleader in the background as you requested for a positioning in their police department as well.
That was when times were simple, when you weren't fighting for your life to survive against beings you never thought existed up until now. It was tiring as you fought, fighting to find a way out, fighting to stay alive, fighting against your mind as you trailed endless paths of despair with your overthinking ways. It was awful having things come to this, thinking you would have had a normal job here among the people. Only to have it taken away from your grasp and stomped on by fate.
