In the heart of the B.S.A.A's Corporation's facility and main head quarters, where the corridors echoed with the distant whispers of experiments gone awry, meetings taking place, and the familiar sound of silence that echoed through the halls with the occasional sound of foot steps that bounced off the walls. Deep into the facility there existed a bond that defied the sterile confines of its walls. Even after the many years the building has stood up from the ground, the many missions it had underwent and specimens that were tested on and saved from different beings and monsters fought along the way. There was still one thing that everyone had kept their eye on for different reasons. Something that most feared while others decided to joke about as if it were even funny in the first place.
As one of the guards entrusted with overseeing this subject you were confused at the vile mistreatment of the enigmatic Rose Winters. A young woman whose very existence seemed to blur the line between science and the supernatural, your duties extended far beyond the realm of conventional security as you looked after the poor blonde girl you were assigned to in moving up the ranks within Chris Redfield's squad. She was your priority and at first you treated this job as just any other, and yet over time you couldn't help but feel a bit of empathy for the girl that contained such mysterious powers. She was so kind and sweet, thinking before she speaks to you instead of blurting out how she felt. You knew what ran through her mind some days, the need to just get out and have some fresh air every now and again. She was stubborn and a rebel against the own rules set against her because of the threat everyone feared she could cause in the blink of an eye. But what you saw wasn't some bio threat that needed to be watched over with a constant sight on her head in case she acts up. She was a regular human being to you and you treated her as such.
Rose was a puzzle wrapped in mystery, her abilities a source of both fascination and trepidation for those who sought to harness her potential outside of the agency which was why they had her here in the first place. Not wanting to risk any one else harnessing her powers that could destroy so much outside the confines of this place. Yet, amidst the scientific fervor that permeated the facility, there bloomed an unlikely connection between you—a bond forged in the crucible of shared experiences and mutual understanding in a weird way even thought both of your experiences were different. Your role as Rose's guardian demanded unwavering vigilance, ensuring her safety as she delved deeper into the labyrinth of her own capabilities. But beyond the rigid protocols and surveillance, there existed a tacit understanding—a silent pact between us that transcended the boundaries of our respective roles. A trust that no one else seemed to even bother forming with her as they spent time with her. But that trust was something that was formed over time ever since she joined the agency a while back and it was something you took great pride in.
In the quiet moments between training sessions, you would steal away to Rose's quarters, bearing small tokens of comfort and companionship as well as certain drawing materials since you adored her passion for sketching in her small notepad. Despite the risk of reprimand, the solace you found in her presence made the potential consequences seem inconsequential. Her disdain for the guards who treated her as little more than a specimen contrasted sharply with the warmth she reserved for me—a privilege you cherished, even as it blurred the lines of professional propriety. It was still something you looked forward to regardless of the punishment or the comments made by peers.
Yet even with this bond of trust, you still couldn't understand what was going through her head sometimes. Her quietness when she was deep in thought some days or her sadness she hid away after hearing the names some agents called her that didn't understand her for her. There were a few times where you walked into her room with meals and she didn't eat at all, laying in her bed in sadness after requesting to be alone.
