--------------------

The weather was harsh and regretful as your team wandered Edonia on your mission you were sent on. Countless hours spent here trying to figure out who was injecting these poor folk with a new type of virus strain. The C virus as your little guest liked to call it, something Neo Umbrella was going around within their possession. You should have noticed it then, her strange behavior as she spoke to you all. Trying to play it off that she was so innocent and just a simple hostage under them. Biting your tongue to keep your mouth shut that you didn't trust her. Overhearing your captain's voice telling Piers beside you to keep an eye on her. Chris' eyes watched you as you eyed her, knowing that look on your face very well by now. He brushed up beside you, giving you a look to ask what was wrong. You could feel his hand brush against yours as you shrugged, smiling it off as if it were nothing. She was different, quiet and observing all of you as you fought throughout the place you found her in. Still searching for answers as you fought the monsters that roamed inside the walls. Numbers of them, mutated in different ways it seemed. Yet even when you fought you still had that consistent thought in the back of your mind, to watch over her. Yet even that task you couldn't do and neither could Finn since he lost her.

Everything happened so fast after that, a trap was in play as these cages made a barrier for your squad. You could only say luck granted you a second chance as you made it out with your captain and his right hand man. Watching them all as they stood inside, all confused as to what was going on until she showed her face. That bitch had the audacity to thank you for escorting her this far and left her gift that broke apart. Revealing needles strapped around each other that fired at everyone of your friends inside. You screamed as you watched them, all hunkering down in pain as they cried out. Tears fell down your cheeks as you watched their bodies catch fire and harder into a cocoon of some type. Banging on the metal that separated you all from them in pain.

Just like that you stood in shock as you watched them, taking steps back as the door opened up again to reveal them all hatching in a matter of seconds. Those beasts you were fighting up stairs were people that were infected like this. Barely could you hear Piers' cries to get out of there yet you watched as Chris just stood still. Letting his body get smacked into both before he was grabbed and flung against the wall. His body was beaten severely as he was bashed over and over again. You cried out to him, holding your assault rifle in front of you as you fired round after round into that beast with Piers beside you. Buying you just enough time to grab his shoulder as he took the other to carry him out of there.

"We're going to get you out of here Chris....please just hang in there alright, we're going to make it out of here baby I just know it...Hang on just a little longer, stay awake for me!"

------------------------

A small sigh escaped Chris' lips as he sat there, his phone in his hand as he sat in his hospital bed. The fight was over and he was the only one left standing, still trying to add the puzzle pieces together in his memory from the months before when he mentally wasn't himself. He remembered you but not much of you, he remembered your pretty face and your attitude, how you were good under pressure and great with a gun. Yet there was more he was missing, you weren't there the whole fight in China. In fact he stuck with Piers the whole time and watched him die to save him from the monster that lurked below the water. You did your best to avoid him and went off with your own group you seemed to lead. Only now did he realize you played a more important role in his life then he thought once he was given a bag of his things to help recover.

His rough hands held his phone, staring at his lock screen for a long moment. A picture of you beside him with a wide smile on your face as he held you. Yet he could only remember you as the girl he fought with in China. Seeing you work as you made sure the civilians got out of there safely before taking your group of men and got out of there on new orders. He noticed the way you looked at him, lost with eyes full of anger once you saw him. He couldn't understand why you stood there so stiff and cold, almost as if you were fighting back chewing his head off as he gave orders. Noticing the fact that you would argue with Piers on the side if you were around each other. Over hearing words like, "I'm not going to pretend like nothing happened" and "You shouldn't have brought him back, he's probably doing it out of pity so you would leave him alone". His finger pressed the lock on the bottom, taking his finger print with ease as he revealed everything. So many missed calls, texts, notifications, pictures everything. His finger pressed against the missed call area. Seeing your name with a heart and number over and over again. Tracing back to when he was told he left the hospital. His fingertip pressed the screen, hearing a small beep and the automated words message begin.
