-------------------

You wouldn't say your night had been the best you ever had here at the mansion. In fact it was probably at the top of your list for one of the worst nights you have had in your life so far. It was a mess to be fair, a night filled full of scares and terrifying monsters you would have never expected to see when coming out here on your mission hours before. You thought it would have been quick, in and out. But next thing you knew the dogs chased you into a mansion in the middle of the woods, filled full of un-dead monsters with a hunger for flesh. Your team was split up soon after the pursuit was over, making you realize only 4 of you made it inside once you caught your breath. Leaving you with a team of 4 which turned into 3 once Albert disappeared as well. You questioned his sudden exit, wondering how in this whole mansion he could just escape like that.

Before coming here you would say you were especially close to Wesker. As Jill had Chris by her side you could have said it was the same scenario with you and Wesker. Instantly boding as soon as you joined the S.T.A.R.S force back when it was brand new. You enjoyed being around him, your partner in crime as you would say. But with the amount of time you spent with him you knew him better than he thought. So these past couple days threw you off when you were around him, he just seemed over all distant to you and to everyone in the group. You were even surprised when he said for everyone to split up, sending Barry and Jill one way and didn't even ask you to come with him to explore the other side of the first floor. You knew that there was something wrong and yet you couldn't say anything, you couldn't back down and argue with Wesker on his orders even though you wanted to. Wanted to ask what was wrong, what was bothering him and why he wanted to split off from everyone so quickly. But you were soon brought out of those thoughts and they were replaced with you fending for your life the rest of your time here.

It was as if this place sent you on a wild goose chase to get around, so many rooms, so many floors. Keys, books, secret passages and other places around the property you had to visit in order to make some progress of escaping this horror filled area. To make it home just like you had wanted all along, wanting to relax after a night that kept you constantly on your toes. Constant back and forth, zombies in one room, giant snakes in another it was non-stop. Leading up to this moment where you felt you could finally make some progress in escaping. As soon as you saw that the elevator was working you had some sense of hope that was fired up in you for a moment. Glancing down at the screen with Jill right by your side, you reached forward and pressed the button. Hearing footsteps coming from down the hall,

"Jill, Y/n!"

"Barry"

"You could have at least waited up for me ya know" He replied as he reached over, playfully hitting Jill on the arm. You scoffed at him, thinking of how he pulled a gun on you both after leaving you down in the lower levels of the basement with that mutated girl. You hadn't understood why he was doing this to you both. More skeptical and less forgiving than what Jill was apparently.

"Let's go" She replied as she turned, the elevator doors were now open for you three. You were the first to step in, the others followed behind you. Gazing down at the panel you pushed in the bright lit button and the elevator was started once more. It was uncomfortable being in the elevator, you couldn't help but feel trapped and anxious as if something was waiting for you down below. Taking a deep breath in you waited, the elevator heading down until it came to the stop. Your grasp around your gun tightened as the doors came to an open once more. Smoke filled your senses as you watched Jill and Barry walk out of the elevator, leaving you in the back of the line.

As you followed them down the hall your anxiety seemed to be increasing the more steps you took. Turning the corners of the dim light halls all the way to the end of the hall. You moved forward now in front next to her even though you wanted to keep an eye on Barry. Jill moved forward, opening the door into a laboratory type place which would lead you to finding your partner standing there next to a computer. You walked in, Jill right by your side as you made your way toward him. Anger rises within you the closer you have gotten to him as he stands there. A mix of hurt and betrayal all mashed with insecurity as you dreaded what he was even doing down here currently.
