Movie/Game : N/A
————————The wind howled as you walked through the city after a late night at the bar. Catching up with some friends before you return back to your apartment after a day at the B.S.A.A headquarters. It was a little gathering, not to many people to be fair but just enough to need alcohol in your system to make it through the night. The only reason you really went was to catch up with Leon and Claire after not seeing them since a little bit after the Raccoon City incident. Standing side by side with them as you made it out of the hellacious place alive, injured but alive. Always wanting to repay Leon for as you liked to say "saving your life" back in the city so many times. After you four made it out together you were brought to safety, going your separate ways eventually as time passed. Having your own path you went down, being tested, interrogated about what happened in Raccoon City before being offered a job among the B.S.A.A. Chris one of the head captains reached out to you on a favor asked by Claire since she knew you were looking for work after leaving that place and your old life behind.
That's what brought you to this point in your life. Being a part of the B.S.A.A for two years now and becoming better at contacting the people you felt you could trust most. Not wishing for anymore to happen really, but was always waiting for a surprise to pop in to your life since nothing was really normal after the incident in the city.
The lights shined brightly with neons casting their bright lights among the buildings and water puddles that lay on the side walk. Peoples voices carried throughout the sidewalk as many conversations were being held among the common folk that passed you by. Your gloved hands quickly brought out a pack of cigarettes, sliding one out of the box and replacing it with your lighter in your grasp. The cigarette laid on the edge of your lip, bringing your hands up to cover the flame as you flicked the lighter on without faltering. Taking in a drag of the cigarette that calmed you so and became a close friend over the harsh years. After all social interactions like that with the bit of alcohol in your system you definitely deserved this break. The smoke burned your throat as you held it in for a few seconds, managing to blow the smoke out through the small gap in your lips when no one was around you as you walked. Your foot steps were quiet as you took a turn in to the ally way as a short cut you took every so often to make your way back to your apartment. It was going to be a rough day tomorrow with your new mission starting, knowing you needed as much sleep as physically possible to make it through the day ahead of you with the recon mission at stake.
As you walked you couldn't help but feel eyes upon you, as if someone was watching you from a far. This feeling was something you were used to, sticking your hand in to your pocket to grab your pocket knife laying innocently in the pit of cloth. Your fingers slipped in between the cigarette, taking it off of your lip to blow out the returning smoke that left the your throat from the nicotine infested stick. Stopping dead in your tracks with a sound of water splashing as your shoe hit a puddle to the side of you. The rain started to drizzle and fall from the sky, meaning you had to make this quick in order to get home soon. Not wanting to deal with who ever or whatever right now to begin with.
A sigh escaped you as you held your cigarette out in front of you, waiting a few seconds before you were to speak out loud. Hoping you didn't look like a fool if no one was even there in the first place. Knowing your paranoia seemed to play a key factor in your life as of the recent years. But usually your gut feelings were never wrong, especially about someone watching you. A smirk rose to your lips as you heard the familiar sound of heels shift on metal stairs from up above. Limiting it down to one of the only people you knew would pull a stunt like this at 1 in the morning. Not to mention the fact she was being secretive as she hid among the railing connected up above from the apartments to reach the roof or down below.
A part of you like wanted to see her after all this time, yet the other half wanted to just walk away and pretend as if you hadn't heard anything at all. To continue your walk home in silence so you could just forget about her once more. Yet you knew you would regret walking away even if it was just a harmless conversation.
