{Ethan Winters x Reader} - She's Back

Ever since Mia's disappearance you have been trying to bring the old Ethan back. Being friends with him before when he was engaged to her and in their wedding as one of the bridesmaids. He was one of your closest friends and could even say best friend as time moved on. Evening pushing back your small bit of feelings for him since he was happy with Mia by his side and his happiness was what mattered to you in the long run. You watched them grow together, excitedly talking about their family they wanted in a big house with 2 kids at least. How much they loved each other and watched how they cared for one another if they were around you. 

There was a small bit of jealousy in the mix with you, pushing it aside was all you could do as you watched them live happily. Yet as time went on you felt as if Mia was hiding something from Ethan and it wasn't just an excuse to feel hate toward her. Going as far as to ask him when you went out for lunch together one afternoon years ago. If he knew anything of her behavior or where she worked, what type of jobs she was doing. Of course you got a confused face in return and a question as to why you thought that. But you just brushed off the question to not seem so awkward butting in to their life like you had did.

But once Mia went on her babysitting trip 3 years ago and hasn't came back since it was hard to hold back saying I told you so to him. Once a year had past with no contact with her, Ethan came to you for comfort instead of a bottle of liquor like you had thought he would end up with. It was the first time he had came to you about her in months, brushing it off that this trip was taking so long. He was depressed as he sat in your home and talked to you about his worries about Mia and where she was. Letting out his fears of her cheating on him with some one overseas or that she was in trouble. Finding comfort in you as you let him cry onto your shoulder and soothed him whenever he felt upset by her. 

This continued on for a couple of weeks before he just ended up staying with you since he rarely left your home anymore. Becoming your roommate and somehow slowly your partner to forget everything in the past. You hadn't expected him to find you attractive, let alone be with you. It could be desperate times, loneliness, or this could just be hidden feelings he had for you all along. But you played along with him, liking how things had turned out between you both after all this time.

It was strange really how it started, first it was him sleeping on your couch. Switching houses where you both would stay since he needed his equipment from home to work. It was a friendship, that was what you had thought it was as you lived with him. Yet his neediness started to break down that code you put up for yourself. Bringing down your walls you made sure to keep up around him so you wouldn't do anything you would regret. Yet his actions always seemed to chip away at that wall no matter what you did. Holding you during movies, finding some way to touch you while you cooked with his hand around your waist or him leaning on you from the back. It was something you had gotten used to and didn't dare tell anyone in case they were to shame you for taking on Ethan after Mia's disappearance. But over a couple bottles of liquor between you both and a night of roughness in bed. Finding yourself naked in under the sheets the next morning you knew there was no going back between you both and your friendship.

Your immediate thought was he was going to throw you out, curse at you or retreat somewhere in shame and embarrassment. Yet once he had woken up he held you closer to him, asking if you were okay and wanted breakfast in bed. You turned in confusion, asking if he wasn't mad at what you two did last night. With a simple kiss to your lips he smiled and said he wasn't mad at all and would like to continue this if you would. That was the beginning of your secret relationship with him that blossomed over the past 3 years. Praying that it would continue to where you could openly say you were dating in the future. Yet a small part of you didn't think it would happen any time soon.
