He doesn't miss you, a constant reminder the man who worked with metal told himself as he sat there in his factory filled with the constant noises from his work within. Leaning back in his chair as he bit the cuticle of his thumb nail in anxiety, the sound of him tapping his foot at a set pace was the only amount of noise he had as he sat in his office away from everything for a moment. The same lines go over and over in his mind as he thought about you. He couldn't miss you, you were nothing but a good assistant that worked at his side day by day. Never complaining much at the tasks that had to be done during the day, that determined look in your eye to stand your ground whenever you knew you couldn't do something he asked. He smiled to himself as he continued to bite at the skin surrounding his thumb nail. But, he doesn't miss you.
The lord was pissed...no furious, that's what he could blame these feelings on. He was furious that Miranda ordered him to hand you over to help care for Donna at her lonely house filled with those annoying dolls. She was having another crisis Miranda explained to him the day she told him to hand you over. His valuable assistant that worked at his side day in and out, HIS assistant, not hers. You were needed at the Beneviento household to help clean and care for Donna as she went through another trial time with her mental state. That was a few months ago, how long would she fucking need to help calm the crazy bitch down? A few days he thought you'd be gone, then it turned into a few weeks easily as the days passed by. He waited for your return, about ready to make fun of the fact you had to care for that unstable woman for so long. Yet you didn't return to his factory like he thought you would.
He grumbled to himself as he stomped over to Miranda during another meeting and asked when he was going to get his assistant back already. His hatred for Mother Miranda was already high and yet it seemed to grow a new spot on the scale once he saw her smile and told him to wait patiently. Like hell he would wait patiently when his work was more important than some mental breakdown her dolls could take care of.
A wince escaped his lips as he tasted blood after biting the cuticle too much. Pulling his finger away to examine the area as a small bit of saliva and blood started to combine on the edge of his nail. A frustrated sigh escaped his lips as he wiped the blood on his coat and began to chew at another nail. His annoyance and anger were not a good combo to deal with in the first place, for anyone really. It was something you learned quickly in his care during the work you did for him. He closed his eyes for a second and shook his head, he was thinking about you again.
He wasn't thinking about you no he couldn't, he was pissed Mother Miranda ordered him to give you over to Donna to help with her anxiety and insanity that was far along from being normal. That's what upsets him the most, not that you are gone from his care and from his factory. While you were gone from this place he had to fetch his own drinks in the meantime of your new temporary job. The metal controlling lord had got used to how well you knew his schedule and the things he liked most. Making his drinks and mixing them the way he wanted, bringing him a cigar when he should have stopped working an hour ago or maybe more. You cleaned up after him and organized his tools in places he seemingly didn't mind although at first he gave you a hard time over moving his things around. He would never tell you how grateful he was of the work you did for him even when it wasn't your orders. He couldn't tell you that, it would make him seem appreciative and soft and he wasn't about to give you that scene.
That's the thing he found admirable of you, he plucked you seemingly from nowhere in the lonely town near his factory. A nobody you were called down below in the village, someone that blended in with the crowd of villagers and had nothing special to truly stand out enough. Someone that wasn't useless but also wasn't depended on with such large important tasks. The day he saw you, he stopped for a second and stared as he carried metal back to his factory. You held a soft smile upon your face as you helped carry some wood to someone's house with no money in exchange for your work. A kind soul he would have thought and stuck his tongue out to in disgust. Yet once you turned on your heel, he saw that familiar look of sadness and aching pain that stood inside your body. You were someone that was certainly not worthy for working for a lord and yet he felt so drawn to you, your figure and what lied behind those eyes that already held so much defeat in them.
