Chapter 14

The beta and Alpha drove to Bonnie's house. They are at her house in no time. Bonnie's mom answers when they knock on the door. "Alpha, Beta, what can I do for you?"

"We want to talk to Bonnie."

"I was wondering did you find Melody? She is the sweetest girl; she comes over sometimes to see Bonnie and she is always so polite. It's a shame what keeps happening to her." She gives the beta a side glance filled with contempt."

"Thank you, can we talk to Bonnie please?"

"Yes. Bonnie, come down here, the Alpha wants to talk to you." Bonnie comes down the stairs, her face is all red from crying.

Micheal steps up to the stairs. "I need to know more about my daughter. You are the only one I can turn too."

"Now you want to know about her." Her mother puts her arm on her shoulder. Bonnie knows what she wants. "Let's sit in the living room. What do you want to know?"

"We have found out she helped a lot of people and had a job at the school. What else did she do?"

"She never stopped. She tried to make up for her mom, I think. She had two jobs, one at the school on the weekend and in the morning. Then she cleaned the pack house before school, ran upstairs, made you guys breakfast then went to class. I would call it hell not school."

"She helped most of them that needed help why would they treat her so bad?"

"Well Beta Michael, they treated her so bad because of you and your son. They told her she was useless and a runner and no one wants a runner."

"I never said that."

"You should talk to your son, you leaving bruises on her, Alpha, you put her in a basement. What were they to think, no one goes against the Alpha and Beta. They threw things at her, and she wouldn't fight them, if she did get in a fight Eric would knock her around or you did. You should have seen the bruises she had sometimes from you. You want to know about your daughter, then explain to me, why she helped the same kids that called her names when they couldn't pass a class? Why she made sure you, who treated her so bad, had what you needed. She fed you, cleaned for you, and loved you with all her heart?"

Phoebe came in hearing her daughter cry. "You need me baby girl?"

"They wanted to know about Melody, what she was like. I can't look at them right now or I am going to lose my temper."

Pheobe wrapped her arm around Bonnie. "That poor child, I have fixed more of her cuts and bruises than any child should have had. It did not matter what you did to her she took it and loved this pack, some of the adults who would see her would give her dirty looks and say that's the beta's daughter, the troublemaker, or the slut."

"That pissed me off the worst, it's hard to be a slut with her work schedule and still being a virgin. Yeah, a lot of people will miss her, and this pack will be hurting now that she is gone. This pack is so sorry, it took her leaving for you to see what you had and lost. My prayer right now is that the moon goddess keeps her safe and she gets the life she has earned." Bonnie was in full blown sobs not able to stop.

Micheal looks at Kevin. Lost for words. "Thanks Bonnie, thank you for being her friend." The alpha says hoping to help her stop crying.

"Don't ever thank me for that alpha. It was an honor to be her friend, I was the lucky one. I am the one who knows what I have lost, and it is all your fault."

"Bonnie it will be alright. Shhh I got you. I think it is time you left Alpha as you can see Bonnie is upset and. I am not far behind, could you tell me of you didn't want her why you didn't let her stay with us and let us love her when you couldn't. Are you that selfish."

"You wouldn't understand." Micheal says as he gets up to leave.

The Alpha nodded his head then got up alongside his beta and went back to the pack house. Michael is holding his head, "I have screwed up to no end. How could I have done this? That isn't the man I am. Fuck this is all Laurie's fault. Her leaving made me into a monster,"

"I'm no better. I saw how you treated her and what was happening, I didn't stop it. You can't blame her for this you didn't have to become what you did you chose to and I let you."

"We have to find her before something bad happens to her. She is my little girl, even if I didn't know it."

"We have men out hunting for her we have to wait for a lead."

The search teams came back Tuesday morning. "Sorry Alpha no sign of her. Later that day Alpha Kevin yells out in pain, "What is wrong dad?" Drew drops to the floor to hold his father.

The beta runs in the office to see what happened. After a few minutes he sits up, "She left the pack and joined another one without my permission. It hurt me when the bond was severed."

"How the hell did she join another pack this soon? They would be taking in a rogue."

"I don't know, all I know is she did it."

Eric comes in, "Any news yet?"

"No let's look at this map and see what packs are close enough for her to have gotten to." Drew says.

"I'll call the local packs see if they have seen her." Eric goes to his dad's office to make the calls.

After hours with still no leads, "This is getting so frustrating." Drew starts to pace. "With not one lead it was getting hopeless."

Bonnie calls the Alpha, "Melody Facebooked me on my laptop, she said she was safe and not to worry."

"Bring it here. Let's see where it was sent from. Get the computer guy, what's his name, over here right now. Drew, Eric, Michael we have a lead." The three hurries into the Alpha's office. "She Facebooked Bonnie. That damn computer guy is coming, and Bonnie is bringing her laptop. We should know where she is soon."

The computer guy comes in at the same time as Bonnie, "Find out where that Facebook message came from."

He takes the laptop hits a few buttons and tells them, "San Antonio, Texas."

"Get the jet. We are leaving now." Drew is already moving toward the door.

"Here is the address it was sent from."
