Chapter 70
Melody holds Amanda's hand, "I'm so glad you are here with me." The concert starts as Stephen plays the piano, his music is strong and full of life. Melody, being the second person to play greets him on the stage with a kiss on the cheek.
"Let them hear how you feel."
She sits on the bench with her fingers on the keys, letting her feelings guide her as she plays. The audience applauds, standing showing how much they loved what she had played.
Amanda walks on the stage with their violins, "You ready?" Handing Melody her violin, the two begin to play together. The sound is exquisite, when the song is over the audience is silent. So silent you could hear a pin drop, then suddenly as if awaking from a trance the applause roars, echoing through the music hall.
Stephen steps out on the stage while the two women are still there, carrying a microphone out for Melody. "Let them hear all that you have in you, all the emotions, all your strength."
"One more time." Melody nods to Amanda, who starts playing her violin softly.
Melodys voice blends in with the violin in perfect harmony. The sound is so beautiful you can hear the sounds of people crying in the audience. The Opera Hall is filled with emotion and the people in the audience can feel it as she sings.
Eric looks at Michael, "When did she start singing like this?"
"She used to sing all the time until I punished her."
Stephen then walks out to conduct the orchestra to play softly to accompany her. The members of the audience have brought out their phones to video the pair on stage. When she starts to leave the stage with Amanda, all you hear is weeping. By the time they get to the curtain the applause starts.
Anthony finds Melody backstage, even he has glassy eyes. "Baby, I can't believe that was you. That was unbelievable." She reaches up to hug his neck. Holding her waist, he lifts her up, "You are amazing, Baby. Amanda, you played so beautifully, the two of you are such a force on that stage."
When the concert is over everyone wants to talk to Melody. She leans in and whispers in Anthony's ear, "Get me out of here."
They made it to the room, he walked her to the bed, "The music you played makes me want you with all that I am." The night was filled with love making and longing for each other.
Kody runs up the stairs with Amanda in his arms, no one sees them for the rest of the night.
The next morning Amanda comes over to Melody, "What would you think if we took the children to the ocean so they could collect shells and build sandcastles?"
"They would love that, let me talk to Anthony. Hey baby what would you think about taking the kids to the beach and letting them have fun in the sand?"
"As long as you bring the guards and if I know the rest of the guys they will want to come too. We could make it a picnic lunch on the beach for all of us, to enjoy at least part of this trip."
Hailey loved the water so much, Papa Charley kept running after her, the best part is when he fell in and got all wet. Hailey thought it was so funny she sat next to him and splashed water at him. I love times like these, they are so special. We returned to the hotel, the newspaper reporters were looking for the woman that sang on stage along with the woman who played the violin last night.
"This is crazy," Amanda holds onto Kody feeling a little nervous with all this attention.
"We need to get everyone ready to leave. By the time we get back from the Skyline Pack we should head for home."
"I'm with you dad, we can't keep an eye on them with all this commotion."
The same number of SUVs came to pick all of us up, we had to sneak out the back door. As we finished loading the newspaper reporters came running out back, they found us a little too late.
The forty-minute ride to the pack was full of talking and excitement this had been a full and tiring three days.
"I can't wait to get home and sleep for a week." Melody tells Amanda.
"Don't tell me Anthony didn't let you sleep either."
"Nope he said my music got him all riled up."
"That is what Kody said too. Men, I forgot how much of a child they can be." Both girls laugh with each other.
The guards tell Drew that we are on our way to the pack house. "Remember, you have to sweet talk them. Make them think that you are happy with everything."
"I know, Eric. Shut up."
"Fine, Drew I'm just reminding you."
"Welcome back, why don't you all come inside, and I can get you something to eat and drink, while Melody gives my father his next treatment."
"Cameron, Drew seems awful excited to see us."
"I think you're right, Charley. I think something's up."
"Melody, your music was beautiful, and what you have done for my father, he is so much better."
"I'm glad he feels better, let me get started on his next treatment. Bonnie, come with me."
"The rest of you come on in. I have lunch already prepared for you."
"That's very kind of you."
Hailey comes up, bumping into Eric's leg. "Hello pretty, what are you doing? I'm your Uncle Eric." Then he pats her on the head.
"No, Daddy." She runs to Anthony crying.
"It's alright Hailey. He won't hurt you, daddy got you." Anthony picks her up kissing her cheek, "Why don't you go play with Carley."
"I wasn't hurting her, I was only trying to talk to her."
"She just doesn't know you. After a morning on the beach playing, she is tired and being a three-year-old."
"Well, whose fault is that she doesn't know me."
Drew smacks his arm, "Knock it off."
"I'm sorry. I just miss my sister and I want to know my nieces and nephew."
"That's fine. Everybody load up were leaving."
"You don't have to rush off."
"We have a long ride to get home and Melody should be out any minute now."
"Anthony, when do you want us to bring my father there?"
"I'll talk to Melody, and we can go from there."
The kids are all running around the cars, Laurie picks up Wyatt, "It is very hard to get them all back in once they get out and start running around."
Carley ad Zack run up to Bonnie woops. They take off the other way. Taking Sam with them to the other side of the car. Melody comes out seeing the pandemonium whistles.
"Get in the car now or else." That did it, they took off to get in there seats.
Luarie looks over to her. "Why didn't I think of that."
"That's what you did to us when we were running around not listening." She gives her mother a grin.
"You two had so much energy when you were little. Eric, do you remember when I took you to the training field to let you run around the track. It was the only thing that let you burn off all that energy."
Eric that was standing on the side watching didn't expect his mother to talk to him. "I remember a lot of things. Then I remember you were gone and left me behind like I didn't matter."
"Eric I didn't leave you I promise I came back for you. I wasn't allowed to get you."
"I don't want to talk about it." He spun around and took off in wolf form to the woods.
Frank put his arm on Amanda's shoulder. "It will be alright." She smiled a sad smile and got in the car.
