Chapter 62

Drew is sitting in the hospital with his father, who can't get out of bed anymore. Kevin is smiling at him, "I have a beautiful son. Now you need to find yourself a Luna and build yourself a life. I don't want you to worry about this old man."

"I'm going to find a doctor that can help you dad. Just don't give up. I've got to get to the office, I'll come visit you later." Drew's face is showing his stress, "I love you old man, you just worry about getting better. As for me I think I found my Luna, it's a surprise so don't ask who."

Sitting at his desk doing paperwork, the phone rings. It's Michael. Drew answers it, he is sounding really down, "Hello, Michael."

Michael can hear that something isn't right in his voice, "What's wrong?"

"Dad's dying. They can't do anything else for him."

"You don't want to hear this I know, but they cure cancer here. Maybe Melody can cure your father."

"She'll never come help us. It would be a waste of my time if I called."

"I'm here, why don't I go and see if I can talk to her? It won't hurt to at least try."

Drew thinks about what Michael has told him, "Try it. You're right it won't hurt to try."

"I will go see them first thing tomorrow."

Bonnie walks over to have breakfast with Melody since Melody has the afternoon shift today. Anthony comes in pissed off, "Beta Michael is here. He wants to talk to you. He said you invited him."

You can see a shimmer of fear in Melody's eyes, "I guess we got to go see him. Can he go to the pack house? So, I don't have to stand out there in case someone is listening or waiting."

"I took care of that I had the whole area under brushed and took out every tree in the area." He sees Melody shaking slightly, like she is fighting the fear in her. Anthony pulls her into his arms. Melody "I don't like this but, it is a good idea. I am going to send Kody with Branden, to get him."

Papa Charley says, "I'm going with them. No one is going to hurt my little one."

"I'm going too." Frank says as he gets up, "I have no love lost for that man, if he could have his own wife beat to death, he could do anything." Frank is remembering how he found his wife on the ground almost dead.

Anthony, Melody, and Bonnie head over to the pack house as the others bring Michael in. "I don't want you alone with him." If he asks the answer is no."

At the gate Michael gets a grin when he sees they cleared out the woods. "I'm here to take you to the pack house."

"It takes this many men to escort one man to the pack house. Are you that weak that you fear one lone beta."

Charley is trying not to lose it with this man put he has no patients. "They aren't here for you. They are here for me, they don't want me to beat the shit out of you."

"You could try but you would find it hard to do."

"A man who beats women and children is nothing but a sleezy piece of shit and I can take him in no time."

Michael seeing that he was getting them all pissed shut up for the rest of the ride. Brandon takes him in the pack house." The Alpha and the Luna will meet you in the living room this way." Branden and four of the guards stayed with him as he waited.

Kody and Frank meet Melody and Anthony before they enter the living room. "He is in there with four guards and Branden. We'll stay in the hall just in case something happens."
