Chapter 95

Drew runs to the pack house to shift and gets dressed. Knowing he's in trouble now, he runs to the bunker to grab Melody. As pregnant as she is he drags her out by her arm to a running car. "You're coming with me."

"Son, what's going on?"

"The pack is yours. I'm taking what's mine and leaving."

As they are both running up the steps, Kevin mind links the pack, "I am taking over for my son. There will be no fighting or confrontation with the men that are coming." He then spins to Bonnie, "Mind link Anthony where we are at and to get here immediately, and that my men will not stop them."

Anthony is in the car with Branden driving as fast as they can as the councilmen drives up to the gate, with his father, Kody, and Frank in the car. Seeing Anthony drive off they follow him. Not one of the guards tried to stop them.

When they get to the bunker, all the women have left and are standing outside with the babies. The men see their wives, run over to grab them, hug them tightly.

Anthony yelling Melody's name as the rest of them pull up, "Where's Melody?"

Kevin says, "Drew just drove off with her about two minutes ago."

"Where did they go?"

"Border patrol said they just crossed the border at the south gate."

"Where's the south gate?" Anthony yells. Kevin points in the direction he to go as he jumps in the car and takes off after him.

Melody is screaming, "What are you doing, Drew? Slow down you're going to kill us!" There is a large bang that comes from the front side of the car, then the car flips to its side and slides about thirty feet down the road. Drew sees Melody laying there unconscious. She looks like she's dead. He howls in pain thinking he killed her. Throws the car door open, sees Anthony coming. He looks back at Melody, shifts into his wolf, howls once more and runs off.

Anthony runs to the car and sees her, mind links, "I need and ambulance now Melody is unconscious."

He takes every bit of his strength to put the car back upright. He runs to the side door and opens it, yelling Melody's name. Panicking as he pulls her gently out of the car into his lap on the ground. He rubs her belly, where his pups are as he rocks back and forth, "Wake up for me, Baby."

It seems like an eternity, but she opens her eyes, "What happened?" Then her eyes focus on his face, "Anthony!"

"Yes, baby I'm here."

"Baby, I hurt all over, what happened?" Suddenly she gets a sharp pain and holds her stomach.

"Are you alright? Is everything ok?"

"I think the babies are coming." She makes another face showing a second pain.

"An ambulance is coming. They'll be here soon. Just hold on."

"I don't think they want to hold on. I think they want to come out to say hello." With her face twisted in pain she cries out, "They're coming, you're going to have to deliver them yourself."

Anthony looks at her. "W-w-what do I do?" He studders.

"Take off my underwear you're good at that. Then play catch."

Anthony has sweat pouring off his face as he tends to Melody. Within minutes the first one is born. "He's beautiful Melody! He's perfect!" Anthony takes his shirt off to wrap the baby in it then hands him to Melody.

He reaches up to hold her head. "See if you can find something in the car for the next one." Then she screams once more in pain.

Grabbing a shirt out of the car, he goes back to Melody. "Are you ok?" he asks as he rubs her hand to try to calm her. He mind links the others, "Where the hell is the ambulance? We have already had one of the babies and the next one is coming."

"Baby, the next one is coming. I can feel it, it's there." Anthony looks down to see their second son coming out. He wraps this one in the shirt he got from the car and hands him to Melody. She is covered in bruises and has a large cut across her head.

"Baby, you gave me two beautiful sons. Look at how beautiful they are." You can hear the ambulance coming in the distance.

Melody looks Anthony in the eyes, "I love you, Anthony." Then her eyes flutter as she goes unconscious.

"Melody, Melody!" Anthony is shouting at the EMTs, "Get the hell over here and check on her." Cameron is in the car behind the ambulance, he jumps out and runs to his son.

The EMTs pick up the babies from Melody's arms and hand them to Anthony. "We have to get her on the stretcher. You can ride with us to the hospital, we need to have the babies checked out."

Anthony doesn't move, he is frozen in grief.

"Son, get up, she needs to go to the hospital move." He is frozen to the ground, staring at Melody. He's in shock. Cameron grabs his shoulders and shakes him, "Son, come on! You have to go. Melody needs you! The babies need you! Go! I'll be right behind you in the car." Anthony never speaks a word but climbs in the back of the ambulance with the twins.

As the ambulance pulls into the hospital, the EMTs rush Melody to the emergency room. Two nurses come to take the babies to the nursery. Anthony is still not saying anything as his father and the others join him at the hospital. "Anthony did they say anything in the ambulance?"

Anthony stares at him and looks like he isn't there. Branden seeing him like this and is worried. "Alpha what do you want us to do? Alpha you are the only one that can give me orders and we need you."

"Branden looks at Cameron. "Give him time he will come around he is in shock. It isn't easy to deliver you own children and watch you mate pass out in front of you."
