Chapter 20

She has been at the Silver Lake Pack for three weeks and it feels like she has lived there her whole life. There is a knock on the door. I got it."

Hey melody I am sorry I got held up talking to Jose. You know what he is like he never stops talking."

"Come up stairs the music room is up there." They run up the stairs Melody feels dizzy, and lightheaded. "Bethany, I don't feel very well." Then it all goes black, and she lands on the floor.

Bethany screams, making Charley run to her; he sees his little one out cold, laying there. "What happened?"

"She said she didn't feel good then she just landed on the floor."

"We got to get her to the hospital." He cradles her into his arms and takes off to the hospital.

Bethany runs behind mind linking the Alpha and the doctor. By the time they get to the hospital the doctor is waiting for her. Jose and Alpha Cameron are not far behind. The four of them are pacing in the hall outside her room. "This is taking too long. I can't take this."

"Charley, calm down." It seems like hours before the doctor comes out to talk to Charley and the rest of them.

"Charley, Alpha, Melody wants to talk to you alone first. She will be fine, don't worry."

The two of them stand by her bed and are worried about her. "You alright little one?"

"Do you remember what happened when he rejected me?"

"Yes, you told us that he wanted to keep you to have children." Charley answers.

"He said he wanted me the night before he rejected me, that we were going to be together. We mated that night," tears start to run down her face. "He got his wish I am having his baby. Please don't hate me."

"We just have to figure things out, Melody. No one hates you." Alpha Cameron runs his hands through his hair and starts pacing the room.

Charley just stands there and doesn't say a word. Melody cries harder, she begins to shake, afraid they are so mad she will have to leave the pack. "Please say something," Melody looks at Charley as she continues to cry.

"We will take care of you don't worry." Charley holds her against him to comfort her. "It was a shock that's all it will be fine."

"This changes things, you are now carrying the future alpha of their pack." Alpha Cameron paces thinking. "I don't know what the law is in this case. I will have to talk to the council. You got pregnant then he rejected you and you never mated with him after that right?"

"No, Alpha. He left after he rejected me. Then I ran away. Will they make me go back to them? I can run from here and just tell them that I ran away from you. I can't go back please don't make me go back."

"You are not going back to them. I will take you with me and we will leave." Charley looks at Cameron, "You will not stop me got it."

"I have a friend on the council let me call him and ask him where we stand legally. I will be back shortly."

"Are you mad at me?" Melody sits there looking so pitiful.

"Little one, I am not mad. You didn't do anything wrong. He did, it's just you have to pay the price."

"I just don't want to lose you. You are the only person who has cared about me in so long." Melody sobbed.

"I'm not going anywhere. There are a lot of people here that care about you, we will get you through this. Just wait to see what happens, then we will go from there."

An hour later Cameron came in to tell them what he found out. "Well, there is good news and bad. When he rejected you and you were pregnant, he rejected the baby that is part of you right now. The bad news is he doesn't need to support you."

Charley punched him in the arm, "You are such a bastard."

Melody started laughing, "Does that mean I can stay?"

"Yes, you can stay along with the little bundle in there."

The doctor came back in, "Do you want to see the baby?"

"I can see the baby already?"

"Lay down, I'll show you." He took some gel and covered a spot on her stomach then took a wand and rubbed it in the gel then over her abdomen. "Look at the screen and see the baby, you can hear the little heartbeat. See that? There is your little one right there." Then he stopped, "Well look there, he shows them a second one. You are having twins, and they are about seven weeks. You will be pregnant for four or five months counting on the father. If he is an Alpha four months, betas are five months, average wolves are six months."

"The father was an Alpha."

"Then you have two months and a week to go."

"That is not much time to get ready. And there are two of them? I can't believe this. Can I go to school? Or play my music?"

"Yes, you can until you get too big, then we will do it by computer." Alpha Cameron says. We have mated wolves in school all the time."

"Yeah but I am not mated, What will the kids think."

"You will tell them your mate rejected you and he was a sleaze ball."

Melody comes out of the hospital room, met by Bethany and Jose, who have been waiting all this time. "Are you alright?"

"Yes, come with me and I'll explain everything to you." After a twenty-minute explanation Jose wants to kill the guy (she didn't tell them who it was). Bethany just wants to hug her. "How about we do your lesson at the pack house tomorrow after school?"

"That is fine as long as you are up to it."

"I am tired, so I think I want to crash for the rest of the day. See you at school in the morning."

"No way we are walking you home to make sure you and those little bundles are safe."

"That is very nice of you Jose."

"What about me I am coming to."

"It is nice of you to Bethany."
