The phone rang, "Hello, Mr. Hughes, how are you?

"I need you to play a concert for me."

"I would love that! I have to talk to Anthony to make arrangements."

"Call me back as soon as you can."

Anthony walked in the house and heard how excited Melody was. "Who was on the phone?"

"Mr. Hughes, he wants me to go to New York and do a charity concert. It's in two weeks."

"Can you get away from your classes?"

"I am not sure. I have to talk to my teachers and see what they say. What about you? Can you take off the time to go with me?"

"Your schedule is harder to rearrange than mine. If you can make it work, I will talk to my dad and have him take over."

The next day Melody left school early and ran over to Anthony's office. She threw the door open, all smiles. "They are letting me take all my tests early and I can do my last project when I get back from New York."

"I see that made you happy." He laughed at how bubbly she was. "I knew they would work with you. You are at the top of your class."

"Can you come home early and celebrate with me?"

The two came in the door talking about the trip. "Did I hear you right, you are going to New York?"

"Yes, Mr. Hughs called me to play a concert for him. Do you want to come with us Papa Charley."

"The two of you never had a honeymoon. Why don't you leave the pups with me and the nanny, go by yourselves and have some fun."

"Are you sure? You always say that you don't want to watch them over night."

"I can call for help if I need it. Bethanie is good with them."

"Melody, Papa Charley is right we can use this time for a honeymoon."

"I can't fight both of you, we will leave them with you."

The following day Papa Charley went to Anthony's office. "What brings you here?"

"I am having a card game with your dad and Kody. I thought you might want to join in and bring your Beta Brandon."

"I have to check with the ball and chain." Not knowing Melody had brought him lunch and heard them talking, he kept joking with Papa Charley. "You know how clingy she is."

That was the last straw. "Ball and Chain it is. Just for that this ball and chain won't cling to you anymore. That means I will go to New York without you and let you stay here to take care of the twins without me."

"You know I was teasing your Papa Charley. Being away from me for that long will make you miss me." He pulls her in his lap and kisses her neck.

"That is my cue to go home. The game is at your dad's tonight at seven."

"I am coming with you Papa Charley; I have to get two assignments done before I can go."

"Wait you can't leave me sitting here."

"The ball and chain is leaving." Anthony sat there with his mouth open.

"Did I hear you say the concert is for charity?"

"It is for humans, they have so many more problems than werewolves. That is why we only go to school for three years and humans go for eight."

"How much school do you have left?"
